Interesting composition. Instead of going the macro of a flower route, you've made an almost abstract pattern. Nice.

Color balance needs to be corrected, unless it is intentional. (In which case it should be corrected!)

Very good idea. I wish I had done this.

Solid use of motion blur. Nice.

I found this when waiting in line to stick my hand in the "Mouth of
Truth". The lighting on the inscription caught my eye, and I
completely lost my place in line trying to compose and precisely focus
on the Latin, carved (I think) in the 6th C.

Maybe crop and print so the horizon is level? And move to the right so the buildings are clearly framed by the cranes (unless you fall off the building doing so!)

The strongest sense in this photo are the vertical lines, the street and the smokestack(?). If you have a chance do take the shot again, I would try very hard to level the camera and keep the lines parallel (if possible), it's the only distraction that keeps it from being a truly great shot.

This is my favorite of the folder. Very nice lines, combination of mechanical and organic forms (the wheel and the cars that look like pods).

I love this one! The detail catches your eye, and the pattern keeps your attention.

Really nice, I like some of the other bird shots in your folder, too. Keep up the good work (hope you get to go back again soon!)

I would have stopped the lens down as far as possible to try to get the vasculature of the far petal (top left) into focus. A little bit of creative curving might bring out the shadow detail in the white petals at 12 and 3 o'clock as well.

Overall, it's probably not very flattering, but I love the outline of the irises-- were they sharpened, or did the lighting produce them like that?

I'm in California now, but I grew up in Cranston and I remember driving down to Narragansett (and further) to get clam cakes and chowder, and we would sometimes pass this on the way home. Brings back memories, thanks!

I love the creamy tones of the, well, whatever it is!?

I took this on 35 mm when I ran out of 120 slide film. One
comment suggested that I leave out the dark area at the bottom.
Do you think I should have cropped it, or chosen a different
shadow when I wrote the curves?
Thanks,
Dave

I really like the image of the girl-- she looks almost superimposed on the photo, like a double exposure. (I don't like the redeye, though-- I would have eliminated that later.)
Cheers,
Dave
I bet you can't see me !
