i would tend to agree with Jeffrey on this one. I like the subject and the composition, but the blurred main subject is a bit distracting to me.
Just out of curiosity, how did you end up with a blurred subject if the neither the camera nor the subject were moving?

i like this image a lot. The colour from the water is soothing.
My only suggestion would be to crop it a bit to get rid of a little of the black negative space.

Great Blue Take-Off
in Nature

Taken at Kentucky Lake in Tennessee. Blue Herons in our parts are
probably the most skittish bird around. This shot was taken from
the deck of a bass boat as we cruised by.
It is the first what I would call decent heron shot I have captured
in two years at the lake.
Taken with a Canon 1dmkII ISO 400 400DO Lens f/5.6.
