  1. There is a simple way to unlock the mirror. My wife was on a shooting expedition when this occurred. She was in the mountains in northern

Greece near the albanian border and called me on my cell phone. I had her on that phone and Hasselblad tech support on the other line.

Apparently this happens (somewhat) frequently on these bodies and backs. It happens when you try to shoot and/or change lenses when the

film is not completely wound on. I believe all you need is a coin. I forget the exact procedure, but if you call Hassie support in your nearest

country, they can usually walk you through it.

It requires inserting the coin into a slot and turning it until you hear a click. That's the mirror unlocking. I don't believe it's a big problem.

  2. I'm in the process of building a database system for my wife, who is a fine art photographer. She uses

medium format and standard darkroom equipment.

The database will track the negatives, editions and prints. It will maintain a contact/client list and be able

to issue invoices and report on sales.

At the moment, we are in a rough design phase, but I would welcome input from the community.

Those who help me in the design and testing will get a free copy.

So let me know your needs!

  3. We've just received an older Hasselblad T* 250 F4 lens from Adorama. This is intended to fit on a Hassie

    501CM.

We cannot figure out how to set the shutter speed.

Is it a standard speed and you compensate with the use of f stop? Do you need a separate shutter?

    Something else?

    We'd appreciate any help.

    Many thanks

  4. Thanks everyone. If understand correctly, I have two options:

    1. Get a Paramount cable - "PC-long-tip to Nikon-screw" cable - and screw the SB

24 on the Quick Flip 120.

    2. Get a Paramount "PC long-tip to female shoe" cable. Plug that into a bracket that has a

    male shoe connector.

    Questions:

    1. Are these custom or standard cables?

2 In the second option, is there a bracket with a male shoe connector? or do I still

use the Quick Flip and buy a male Hot shoe bracket that connects to it and fits the SB-24?

    3. Can the Quick Flip attach to a tripod?

    Thanks for bearing with me.

  5. Sorry, I don't know enough about her use. I just want the parts to fit together. So if I

understand your previous message, all I need is a regular bracket and a PC - PC cord.

And again, please forgive my ignorance, is there a PC socket on the 501CM, or is it in each

    lens?

    Thanks

  6. My wife uses a Hassie 501CM with a waist level finder. We have a barely used SB-24 Nikon flash unit. I've

tried reading both manuals but cannot figure out if the two are compatible, and if so, how to connect

them. I guess we're looking for a cable and a bracket.

She uses the standard 80mm CF lens, a 50mm CFi lens and a 200mm t* lens. I presume she wouldn't use

    the flash with the latter.

    Thanks for any help.

  7. Forgive the probably naive question but I'm a newbie. I have a Nikon F Photomic. I love the

lens quality and have found the quality of picture superior to most anything available

today. However, I want to enter the digital world.

I'd like to either use a digital back with the camera, or be able to use the lenses with a

    digital SLR.

    What equipment do people recomend?

    Thanks

    David
