I have mounted a few photos on some old slate tiles I found and was just wondering if I could spray some type of sealer over top to
protect? Any special gloss or satin finish anyone knows about. I used Epson Ultra premium Presentation Paper mounted to matt board
and just thinking I should put a coating of some kind on. Any thought's???
Thank you

Thanks everyone for your input. I should have said thinking of second camera. I am very happy with the D300 it's just I
could use a second camera and pretty much like I thought there is not right now nothing right now worth updating to. So I
guess I'll wait and see what Nikon comes out with in the future. Not really looking to spend $5000 plus for the basic D800
setup. Again Thanks all for input.

So I have a D300 and I'm thinking of updating. I'd like to stay with the dx format to keep the lenses I have for that format. The new D800
is nice but I would not get full use with the dx lenses so do I wait and see if Nikon comes out with a new dx model in the same class as
the D300 or go with the D800 and have to update lenses as it seems the switch is on to more full frame camers? Thanks for any help.

I had Moo print my cards and they came out great, everybody that sees them are impressed and wants to know where I got them. Sorry for your bad impression maybe it was how you sent the files. Charlie

Are you planning on backpacking or trailer park camping? Not sure on the Adirondacks, I'm located in the Catskills Slide Mtn. High Point, Sundown, North/South Lake, Balsam Mtn are a few off the top of my head. North/South lake is a state camp ground the rest are pretty much tent camping backpacking spots. Sundown area has around 6 water falls within maybe 2 miles. Nice Views from the top of these mtns But your going to have to hike there. Hope this helps.

Philip, There are no camera stores near by. The city isn't that far from Woodbury Commons maybe 40 or so miles. Where else will you be going? There is a camera store in New Paltz and one in Kingston (Artcraft Camera) not very good though expensive and not much of a selection. Charlie

Josh, Thanks for responding but I'm still confused a little. Like I said I see the photo in Critique form but they don't show up in top rated gallery or new photo gallery. Last photo I posted was on 1/17/09 rating avg 5.3 +/- so I would think I should have seen it. Thanks for responding.

The last few photos I've submitted haven't shown up in the gallery, am I doing something wrong or what? I've seen them in critique but not the gallery.

How do you get the head to release/slide so I can try the ammonia trick. Thanks

I'm using original Epson ink. As for how clogged I'm only getting 4 out of the nine colors when I do a nozzle check.
-
I haven't used my 3800 printer lately ( couple of weeks) and a couple of the nozzle's are clogged tried the power
clean still not working. Does anyone one know if it can be fixed easily or do I have to send out for service and how
much that might cost? And yes is is out of warranty of course. Any help greatly appreciated.

I just tried today and still can't in the photo gallery either.

Traveling down I-81 towards Harrisonburg, Va and Shenandoah National Park. Like to spend a day or 2 then head towards NC aand the Smokies for a day or 2. Any thoughts on this area for photo ops?
-
Leave NY head towards Gettysburg, Pa then towards Cherokee N.C from there not sure yet maybe towards Texas, N.M, Az.
-
I'm thinking of a spring trip south from NY through the Smokies maybe west to
Az. I'll be traveling with a truck camper on a 4x4 with wife and dog. I'm
interested in any photo op's along the way. Places to Hike that I can take the
dog on from what I've read most of the info I've read the National parks don't
allow to much hiking with a dog. Old farms, landscapes, off the beaten path
and over shot. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

David. I have seen where people use the wire metal shelves and strap them together to form a wall or ladder type setup. Your local Home Depot/Lowes or lumber yard should have these. Hope this helps.

Have you ever tried the Bashakill? It's a large wetlands located just off Rt 17 in Wurtsboro, NY.

Hi Gabe, I just wanted to let you know you have some great shots that tell very interesting stories. My favorite is your stray dog, The b/w works great for that shot. Keep up the good work, ask ? and don't take offence to the rude one's it just gives them something to feed off. Charlie.

Just picked up this lens and have a couple questions regarding settings.
1; what settings do you find most successful for shooting birds in flight. Auto focus C with 51 point or 3 D. Or something else.
2; have or do you have to fine tune focus in camera. Sometimes shots seem like there not 100% even through view finder.
