The insulator (35-kV class bushing) was the test fixture. The test sample (wildlife guard) sat on top of the insulator but isn't shown here. The bushing flashed over around 185,000 volts AC at very low current. Thanks!

I'm not sure what category this fits into. Anyway, it was taken for

test documentation but afterward I felt it had artistic potential.

    What do you think?

I know the execution / IQ could have been a bit better so that is

something I'll try for next time. Unfortunately I didn't spend too

much time on set-up as it was taken without artistic merit in mind.

    Thanks for looking!

Lovely image! I like the somewhat muted palette and bit of contrast that pops out. Personally I might like a bit more DoF to keep the white tree 1/3 in from the left just a bit sharper although I could very easily change my mind once I see it that way. This is certainly something that I would hang in my home.
  1. Hi, I'd like any constructive feedback you have on this sunset

panorama. I'm trying to decide if I need to crop out a bit more of the

sky (closer to the top of the tree) so I'm particularly interested in

your thoughts on that. Note: To me, the image on the monitor appears

to have a bit of blur in the foreground. Please ignore that as best

you can as actual prints are quite sharp. Thanks!

I've had lots of friends and family members comment on this image. I

was surprised when many of them mentioned that it has a very sexual

feel to it. I honestly didn't get that feeling from the image

initially; now I almost feel like I should put it in the "Nudes"

    gallery. What are your impressions?

  2. Thanks Alan! I tend to keep the 17-40mm and Cokin filter holder on the camera, especially when I'm out shooting landscapes. Having those already mounted saved time. I also keep a grad ND and circ pol at close reach in my bag along with the remote release.
  3. Please let me know your thoughts on this image.

It was taken with an exposure of a few seconds on a 20d with a 17-40

f/4L at 17mm, f/22, grad ND, shutter lock-up, and remote release. The

tripod was in a few inches of water along the shore with the camera

about 24 inches off of the water. The black flies were crawling up my

    nose ;)

  4. I was just coming off the trail after shooting in another location and walked into this scene. I scrambled to get setup and make just a few exposures before the red completely faded from the horizon. Fog was rolling-in as you can see on the left side of the image.
