Looks too blue to me - is it just me or the digital effect ?

I guess some will scuff at me - but I like this picture...

I'd like to reshoot this - any suggestions on how to improve it? Note

the print has a bit more red and colour saturation. The flatbed I used

seems to loose a lot of the dynamic range/intensity...

For some reason I keep thinking she should be a little more to the left (facing into the picture instead of out of the picture)... Does this make sense ?

I think the picture would have been nicer if the angle of the photographer was up not down. That is if you had been/gotten lower and angled the shot slightly up (or level)....

This is nice - but I wish his face was crisper with more details. For some reason the softness really bothers - i Guess the lines upon his face are interesting and if there had been some dof in them you could show the valley and hills...

No offense but I think she has too much make-up on....

I don't rate pictures but I will comment on the comments. I think the choice of shallow DOF is excellent.

 

I wonder -- if you had taken the step to the right/left to change the position of the head of the child if you would have still captured the moment. Furthermore, with the shallow DOF I hardly think it is needed.

The idea is interesting but i think it could use a bit of work...

Was it posed or random chance ?

I think it would have been a nicer image if you could have waited for the girl to turn around.

Is that a bit of flare from the left side -- would it be possible to reduce it at all -- otherwise great picture!
