Canon 200mm f/1.8. Anyone whoever used one, care to disagree? LOL
-
This is where the rule of thirds comes in...take the price and divide it by three...Sound like a better price?

I shot some pictures of artwork for a client who (in addition to the prints I
made) needs some sides made from the digital images.
Can anyone recommend any companies which produce slides (trannies) from
digital images (tiff or pdf). It would be easiest if I could ftp the images to
the company.
Thanks,

At work, I do see My Workspace (and can access it without having to relog in), and do not any ads that I do not see at home (skyscraper ads).
Thanks,

Brian:
I'm a subscriber, and do not see this 'feature' when accessing PN from home (Win XP SP2), but do see it when accessing PN from work (Win 2K). I access PN logged in at both locations, any idea why I am seeing these links at work?
Thanks,
Arnie

I use the 7 mm shafted umbrella from the Photek Softlighter, which works fine. So, absent having one of them, what you want to look for is an umbrella with a 7 mm shaft.

On the Galbraith forums, people seem to rail on Maxtors, saying they are garbage. I've had one fail; fortunately, it was a scratch drive, so I lost no data.</p>
I don't think that warranties are a relevant way to buy a HD. Unfortunately, all they cover is repair or replacement of the drive; they do not cover recovery of your data. Reliability is critical, and data recovery is far more expensive than the price of a HD.

I've never used them for albums, but a while back they were selling lenses on e-bay. I privately bought a Canon 200 f/1.8 lens from them. They sold me an excellent quality lens and were a pleasure to deal with.

I shoot digital (Canon 1D and 10D) so my answer is based on a digital workflow. In the studio, after getting the lighting set up in proper ratios, etc, first I set up a custom white balance in the camera (either white card or slight grey card (less than 18%). This gets you close.</br>
Then, I always shoot a Macbeth color checker chart ( http://www.gretagmacbeth.com/index/products/products_color-standards/products_colorchecker-charts/products_colorchecker.htm ) as the first frame. The bottom row of the color chart has patches from white to black, which can be used in Photoshop to neutralize any color cast.

The thank you goes for me too!

I would doubt that libel applies, as one of the elements that must be proven by a plaintiff is <b>actual</b> pecuniary loss. I would doubt that actual monetary loss could be proven by changing the message on the sign, particularly when one could clearly see that the sign was altered.

Try clearing your browser cache when PN gets stuck. I'm not sure what is downloaded into the cache from PN, but clearing it usually allows me to view pages and images (after getting stuck). This is the only site that this happens with, but my computer-geek abilities are not sufficient enough to figure out what is being downloaded to choke IE6.

The issue is not that it will take 6 weeks, 6 months, etc to resolve the problem, but the issue is that it took numerous threads from different people and several months to get a response from PN. Had you provided the response that you did in this thread (or actually any response) back when people started complaining, I assume that there would be no need at all for this thread.<p>

I will just add my complaint to the list <b>AGAIN (for the 4th time)</b> of people whose subscription problems have been ignored. I renewed under the Sandy drive for 1 1/2 years for the price of 1, and only got a 1 year renewal. Brian, instead of answering ratings rants, how about addressing the people who support the site.
-
I agree that this is a problem that I am also having with my subscription. I too renewed during Sandy's 1.5 years for 1 year drive, and only received a one year renewal. This is my third post on this matter. The first two have been IGNORED. What's up Brian? Do you not think that the subscriptions are important? If you value subscriptions, simple customer service courtesy requires at least a response. What gives? (Sorry, I don't like being ignored on a simple issue; that would take 30 seconds to resolve or at least respond to.)

I have this problem often; PN won't either display a page or the images on a page (happens on pages with images and without). I'm using IE6, and find that deleting the browser's temporary files (cache) usually fixes the problem. Not sure what is being stored in the cache from PN that causes the browser to hang, but the hangup doesn't occur with the initial page that I browse (the forum list view or even the list view of the particular forum that I select), but then does often happen when trying to display a specific thread.

Heather:<p> Yes, I agree that patience is a virtue... but I still think my statements are accurate.

Maybe I'm missing something here...I've posted this question twice (plus sent an e-mail), and still haven't received an answer or action, but yet the same question posted in a more rude manner gets addressed by PN administration.<p>
To me, if member subscription is important to PN, then answering these type of simple questions should take priority over responding to rants and whines over low ratings, etc...but what do I know?

Brian:<p>
I posted the following in January and followed up by an e-mail, but
received no responses. Now that the server problems seem to have
subsided, I'll try again...<p>

Brian<p>
I renewed my subscription during the Sandy subscription drive, and
only had it extended by 1 year instead of 1 1/2 years; could you
please look into this?<p>
Thanks,<p>

I've had great results with the 2200 using Red River UltraPro Satin paper. The paper is thicker than Epson Premium Semigloss paper (half the price, and doesn't say Epson on the back). I use this paper in portrait prints that I sell to customers, and have had no complaints with the results.

Similar to Tom's link, look at Rosco's main page <p>
http://www.rosco.com/main.html <p>
and click on The Rosco Guide to Color Filters and download the pdf on the right side of the page to find very useful information on the type of gels you are looking for. You can buy the sheets of at B&H. On the B&H site, search under Lighting & Studio for the Rosco cinegel number (i.e., type in 3203 to search for 3/4 blue).<p>
Hope this helps,
