  1. I have someone interested in renting my 80-400 f/4.5-5.6D ED AF VR Zomm Lens

for an African Safari trip. The lens will be gone for ~2.5 weeks. I don't know

what the going rate is for this type of rental. (I am not a Business Owner)

I will have an insurance policy on this lens before it leaves my house.

Should I have an contract? If so what should it include?

What recommendations do you have for me?

I will check this site in a day or two. Thank you for your responses

  2. Thank You Tom...I will do some test shots using the sharping options within the camera. I am now looking at buying a photoshop software package. You mentioned "Elements" as a starter program, but should I just bite the bullet and buy a larger package?? If so which one works best with Nikon (Photoshop or Nikon's software)?? Is "Elements" congruent with photoshop's other packages, or if I upgrade later will I have a whole new learning curve?? Thank You again for your help.
  3. Tom & Gerald...1st Thank you for your respondes. The camera was set to Fine, Large, and jpeg...Richard...The VR was left on and the lens was mounted directly to the tripod (Manfrotto 3221WN with a 390RC2 head) and PS Thank you, as well as, Douglas and Len. I have made notes and will try your suggestions.
  4. My photos do not look as sharp to me as I exspect using Nikon

Equipment. I had the D50 with the 80-400mm VR on a tripod, and I shot

some long photos (400mm) that are in my portfolio, "The Girls of

Summer". (Sorry but I do not know how to import a link to this site)

Because of changing light I set the aperture priority to f/5.6 with a

ISO of 800. This gave me speeds of 1/1000-1/1600. Could someone please

take a look and tell me if this problem is me, my equipment, or

both??? I do not PS, do I need to with digital???
