  1. I experience the same problem with uploading my photo's to photo.net. However i do not experience this with other photo sharing sites. I usually have to increase the contrast by about 10, and the saturation by 15 to 20 for it to look like it does before i upload it. To see an example look at my landscape folder. I have two versions of Dawn's Awakening. The 6th and 7th photo's in the folder. One with just editing it normally how i would if i were going to print it. Which looks really flat after i upload it to photo.net, and then the other version that i have to over saturate and increase the contrast to make it look good on photo.net. I know it changes after i put it on photo.net because i can open up the photo in photoshop, and at the same time look at on photo.net, and i will put them side by side, and the picture looks washed out on photo.net I have to conclude that its photo.net. Because i don't have this problem on other photo sharing sites.

Check out the 2 different versions.

  2. Hey Stephen

Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you I just saw your response to my posting. Actually I have not purchased either the d200, or the d300 yet. But I?m strongly leaning towards the d300. It all depends on your money situation. Obviously the D300 is going to be a better pick, but both you and I sound like we are in the same boat, and want to make sure that the D300 is worth $700 dollars more than the D200. Now I see that you do weddings, if that?s the case I strongly recommend the D300, and I believe that the extra cost will be justified for you. Like you said the digital noise is going to be a lot better at high iso's with the D300. Which is going to be really important with indoor shots. Granted upgrading from the d50 to the D200 is going to vastly improve your digital noise. Anyways good luck with the business and your camera purchase, and let me know what you decide on lol. It takes me forever to purchase something new also. By the time I decide what i want the new model its about to come out lol. Anyways look forward to hearing your feedback on which one you purchase

  3. First of all thanks to all the great advise, and suggestions everyone has listed.

Ellis: I shoot at a lot of atv/ mx races, and i'm starting to get into doing landscapes. I was more interested with the live view for if i was using a tripod, it seems like it will help with composing the picture, and i will have a live histogram so that will be nice. The live view isnt the most important thing to me tho. Since i shoot at atv/ mx races i was really intrigued by the new af system that detects color and apparently is supposed to focus a lot better that way. also it shoots a few frames per second faster than the D200.

Godfrey: I agree it would probably be best to wait until all the flaws and kinks are fixed. SO right now that seems to be the only downside of the d300 is the cost, and waiting for it to be available.

Carl: Do you know by how much the dynamic range will improve by?
