1.
Yes, that's right, FREE film. Just not too much of it.
My birthday is just around the corner and my gift to myself this year is a new to me Rolleiflex. Of course one can't just buy a new camera without picking up a few accessories, so another ebay auction later and I was the proud owner of a moderately sized boatload of filters, rolleinars and other miscellanea. Included in the lot was a pack of 10 4x5 sheets of Rollei ATO 2.1 Supergraphic dated 6/12. I have no clue as to how it has been stored so I can't make any guarantee that it's worth having but for the price of postage in the US it's probably worth trying out. (Or so I hope.)

First PM expressing interest gets it. I and I'm sure others here would be interested in the results if you would be so kind as to post them. I'm probably going to be passing on other things as I go through the lot so look for a future post.

 2.
Awhile ago I asked about turn around time on the D600 shutter service. I was concerned since at the time I was in the middle of a move and didn't want things to get lost. I finally sent it in on the 8th and was pleasantly surprised to have it back in my hands on the 18th. The tech went so far as to replace the strap rings which I had never installed, overall I was impressed by the service.
I want to thank everyone who responded to my original post, the input was greatly appreciated. I'm including a few shots, (not really test shots as they're wide open), just me playing with both the camera and the cat.

Not really sure if this is working.

Maybe a last one.

 3.
Hey Robert, I help people choose new cameras all the time and the best advice you've gotten here is to either involve your friend or get him a gift certificate. As hard as it is for ME to understand why others don't want to drag around tons of gear we're all different and that's why there are so many choices in the market. I do try encourage anyone getting a P&S to choose one that has a manual mode so they have an opportunity to experiment and maybe grow their skill level.

 4.
Thanks Shun, that's what I've decided to do. The camera isn't completely useless but I can see spots even with the lens opened to 5.6 and I hate post processing. I find that as long as I don't have a lot of sky or light colored walls I'm okay. I still have the Pentax so I'll just go back to using that for the most part and just use the D600 where I absolutely have to go wide. I knew this might happen when I bought it but I have to be honest and say I don't have any regrets about this purchase. I just returned from a mission trip in Baja and it did everything I needed and then some.

 5.
Roy my only concern on the time is that I have to move and want to know that the camera will arrive while I'm still here. The house is going to be demolished so there won't be anyone here to collect it if it runs over my time. I do have another camera, I use a Pentax K5 for wildlife so I'll have that while the Nikon is being serviced.

 6.
Thanks for the quick responses. Looks like I'll try to get it in tomorrow. I love the camera and bought it knowing about the issues but figured I'd take a chance especially as I was able to take advantage of the steep discounts on the new kits after the 610 came out. Can't wait until it comes back.

 7.
Hello everyone,

I have a D600 with the the well documented shutter issues so I'm wondering how long the average turn around time is for Nikon service. I typically wouldn't worry about time and just send it in but I've been informed that I must move soon and don't want to worry about being around to receive it.

Thanks for any help.

 8.
Hi Susan,

Well this was interesting to me since I'd love to use a digital back on my RB. Unfortunately unless I win the lottery I don't see myself getting one any time soon.
I can see how this would be frustrating to someone since the manual just says 1x lithium ion battery 2350Ah power with no part or model number. I managed to find this on the B&H website under reviews for the back. "Grab a few more spare battery packs (can use Samsung SBL-160 and SBL-320 batteries) because this back drains up on juice pretty quick." Here's a link so you can see for yourself. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/660579-REG/Mamiya_322_022_DM_22_DM_Series_Digital.html
Hope this helps
9.
Thanks for all the kind words. The looks were definitely a huge factor in my choice of the Spottie. One look and I was hooked. Having a meter is nice and one that uses a modern battery is frosting on the cake.
John S. Thanks for the explanation on how the bridge circuit works.
Subbarayan Thank you. I really enjoy your posts.
Rick, JDM, thank you both. I greatly admire the form your posts have and did my best to duplicate it.
