  1. Hi Mike! I found that shooting indoors at museums equally challenging this weekend when I went to the Naval Air Museum in Pensacola, FL. I experimented with many different settings before getting some good pictures. Most of the aircraft in the museum I visited were lit with skylighting which provided nice natural sunlight, so I didn't have many problems with white balance settings. Using a flash on other aircraft that were in dimmer areas was hard because the flash didn't have enough reach in the huge building. I think every museum is going to offer its own set of challenges so without seeing what you were up against, I don't think I could recommend any improvements. I do like this shot of the SR-71 though. It's a beautiful airplane.
  2. I submitted 3 photos of this static display, and this one was the hardest to get a proper

exposure on due to the tremendous backlighting at the museum (skylights with the sun

shining straight through!). With no spot metering mode on the new Digital Rebel XTi, I did

my best with what I had to work with and came up with this. Anybody have any ideas as to

how I could have done it better?

  3. It was taken on April 13, 2006...I took about 1,700 pictures while I was there for a week with my wife and 6 year-old daughter. It was a full moon that night and I had planned to try some shots of the moon against the castle after the fireworks but I never could get the settings right. Anybody have any ideas for settings/lenses to use for photographing the moon with a Canon EOS 20D?
  4. This was my first attempt to photograph fireworks, so I chose the fireworks show over

Cinderella's Castle at Magic Kingdom in Disney World since it was done over an interesting

subject (the castle!). Please comment and advise me to how I could have done better!

  5. I took this photo while getting ready to shoot fireworks at Magic Kingdom at Disney World a

few weeks ago. My daughter spotted this Owl at some distance in the tree in almost pitch

black darkness. I didn't have time to grab a telephoto lens, so I shot with my EF 24-70mm f/

2.8L at 70mm with a Speedlite 580EX flash. This is my first photo I've ever taken of a bird, so

    please leave your comments!

    Biloxi Sunset

          2

Casino Row, Biloxi, MS, as seen from Front Beach across the bay in Ocean Springs, MS. Photo

taken 7 months after Hurricane Katrina destroyed much of this area, but the wide angle

perspective hides most of this devestation (on purpose!). This is my first photo I've

submitted here and I would love your feedback!
