I am not sure what to think of this contemplation inducing image but I like it. Is it constructed, a photograph of a painting or a conglomeration of multiple inputs? The monotone presentation brings the red detailing with a suggestion of the blood of conflict. Interesting and captivating.

Interesting image; there is a sensual and nicely presented moody quality. The shadow gives an ominous, voyeuristic almost evil tone aided by the blurred/ shoot through structuring on the left. The main subject imbalance increases the overall tension. Overall, it stays with you after seeing it - well done.

Alexander, the contrast between the angular, sweeping curves and the distinct and implied angles provides a very compelling composition. Greg.

Gorgeous - the alternation light and dark bands accentuate the sense of depth. Greg.

Alain, beautiful long exposure shot. Nice of foreground/background tension. Looks like it was cold but the results clearly justify such "exposure". Greg.

Andris, The symmetry against the asymmetric clouds works quite nicely. Pleasing color that would have been easy to push too far into becoming gaudy instead of being complementary. Nice eye for this composition. Greg.

Dave, I find this piece just exquisite. Wonderful, flowing dynamic motion, color and activity. Quite engaging and a beautiful abstraction.
I would certainly encourage further work along these lines; it is not the stuff of most photographers portfolio but stands well on its own nonetheless. You may want to look up the artist Leonardo Nierman, he has a similar painting style. The net will not demonstrate the 3-dimensional depth (paint is mixed with clear gels, layered on top itself) or brilliant color of his work but I think you may see some similarities.
Cheers, Greg.

Larry, thank you for the input. In my perspective I didn't shoot this image with a main subject but primarily as an image with multiple points of interest. I saw it as a somewhat kinetic perspective with one's eye moving between the two center parts of the frame and less so horizontally between the brighter areas. I don't "name" my images per se as I am not too imaginative in that vein. Mostly they just get a notation of place so to have put "Firehole Falls" may be a bit misleading. Some people on this site are quite accomplished at naming and it enhances their presentation but I am left to be envious of that skill.
I like this image but agree it does lack a true central focal point. I took a more limited/defined picture about 30-45 degrees to the left with the falls clearly the focal point of that image but wanted to get an experienced and neutral perspective on how this one comes across.
Thanks again for the helpful response and taking the time to analyze. Greg.

Robert, very engaging composition and thoughtful space usage. Detail capture is excellent. I also like the highlight in the upper quadrant opposing the negative space in the lower corner. A very nice image. Greg.
