  1. <p>This has been an issue with other cameras in this body series. I have had the 10D and 30D and did not have this happen to me, but I know others have had this issue with the 20D, 30D and 40D (Err99).<br>

    Canon usually came out with a firmware update for the fix. There is a firmware update dated 11/4/09, but it does not refer to this issue. <br>

    I was shooting with a friend today who experienced this Err 01 issue. She cleaned the contacts with a microcloth, and it did occur again and again, even after taking out the battery. She used a Sigma lens the other day with no issues. It was a canon zoom ens reaching to 300mm when this happened.<br>

    I shoot with the 1D Mark III and have not had this issue. <br>
