    I am a bit distracted by the bright branch below and to the right of the bird's neck, and other places. If you could selectively bring down some of those highlights, I think it would give you a stronger composition.

    I think that this is a very strong abstract photo. I like the sharpness, and the variety of textures, and the composition. Indeed, it does have a little fee as if it was the map of an island, with green surrounded with increasingly bluer tones.

    This is a shot with very good light. The bright mist adds a lot. However, it's obviously a composite of two photos, and the transition between images detracts immensely. I suggest you try to recombine these images. Editing the left side source image to increase the exposure a bit, and working to merge the transition between images more seamlessly.

     

    A good image, and can be improved much more.
