    stunning, has this been cropped or did you take as close up - I have similar in my portfolio though not as close. I may crop as yours gives a much stronger focus on the bird

    Amazing backdrop and the light source (light house??) gives an interesting focus away from the central point

    Thanks for your comments, I did use the integrated flash - As it was approaching mid day and a fairly clear sky the overhead sun was producing a lot of shadows against the branches and leaves. Also just to put things into context This was opportunistically taken in the back garden not on a shoot as such and there was little or no prep time. I was concerned he would fly away before I got a shot.

    This was one of the first pictures I took with my canon 350D I was
