  1. I wouldn't use PMA for anything bigger than 11x14. I have had several prints bubble up after time mounted on acid free foam board and matt board alike. Also the crescent perfect mount product is a no no. I have had to redo several large scale photographs after using this product. They tend to bubble up on a regular basis after following their recomendations to a tee! I now use a cold roller system with double sided adheasive that works fine.
  2. I have the same problem that hans mentioned...only had for one week and noticed the numbers have no revalence to the amount of friction...its fustrating spending 300.00 bucks on a head and have it do this. I also walked around with the tripod-camera on my shoulder for a bit and this is what happened. It is also binding up on me on occasion...I whish I new the problem.

  3. It is really difficult to get exceptional photos here without a guide. You can't enter before sunset and you have to be out before sunset. No sweet light. I suggest a native american by the name of Toney Begaywith Keyah Hozhoni Tours 520-674-1960 the last I checked. He seems to have an eye for photography and knows where to take you for that sunrise or sunset shot. It may cost you $20.00 to $60.00 but it is worth it! He is willing to get up whenever you want to and take you into the monument. He was even on time at 5:00 AM!

I say don't worry about filters and use the best film around, Fuji velvia 50ASA. It will pop the colors enough for you (all the colors) that one filter cannot do. Unless you like EVERYTHING the color of your filter. You may want to bring a polarizer for those dusty days but I kind of like that look sometimes. Always have a skylight filter on though, I was caught in a dust storm one time and it was ugly!! It made for great pictures though.

    Good Luck!

  4. I'm planning a tour to Alaska and am interested in photography of

Denali, bears, glaicers, eagles and whales. Of course any other

anilmals that may also come into my path or me in theirs! I am going

to take pictures, period. I am looking for a tour that gets up early,

shoots all day, eats on the run, and shoots until an hour after

sunset! I am in good shape and want to find one that does less time

sitting around and talking and more time out photographing. Is this

    asking to much?

Is there such a tour or person that knows all the great spots and is

up for true adventure? I would like to go at whatever time of year is

the best for viewing wildlife or scenery. I heard Autumn is the best.

    Thanks,

  5. I agree with chris, I went to a 6x7 system and was very displeased with the amount of DOF I was getting. I like those foreground, background relationships and they are most definitly lost even when using the widest lens out there for medium format! I may just stick to my 35mm until I'm ready for a 4x5.
