    Hungry Horse

          41

What a phenomenal photograph of a horse. Those of us who own horses or work with horses (or god forbid) photograph horses, understand that they are a complex animal with a myriad of expressions, moods and looks. The traditional horse image is no more original than a standard portrait. Beautiful yes, but original?

This photo on the other hand takes an act that a horse performs 23 hours out of every day in the natural environment and makes it art (yes I believe art can have a sense of humor.) Thank you.

  1. Though there is slight lense distortion, the echo of the rainbow's

shape is predominently natural, the curve of the hill and the leaning

of the trees all drive to the center naturally. The image was joined

using MS Digital Image Suite and the colors adjusted for tonality and

true representation through Adobe (levels and curves only.)

    First try!

The lights are well placed and the draw the viewer vigerously into the picture. Using the lights as the attractant, you are drawn into the mystery of your model's form. Obscured, but still riviting.

The only thing I would have liked to see is the entire model (head and all) though obscured would have been fine, but with the throat of the model acting as terminus, your eye scans off the top of the photo and leaves the frame prematurely.
