There was a big fat head just to the right of the crop. :-) But I still feel having him to the left might have been too conventional. I was trying to do something different with this photo.
Also, this photo looks like a smoking cigarette, which I thought was interesting.

I like the photo. However, IMO the smaller board unbalances the composition.
Just an idea...I think a tighter crop would look more dramatic/eerie - bring the left edge to the corner of the board, with the illuminated hand "hanging in" to make a move.

Great photo. The photo looks overexposed, and I think a simple "Enhance" with your favorite software will make it look much better...
