No kidding, I think it'd looked great in Ansel Adams portfolio. Seriously, I like this one more than some of his photos. Don't quote me on that, though, as I am afraid many people would not understand.
  1. This is strong and impressive. I definitely like the idea. The sun is a bit too bright to my taste, would prefer it to be more subtle. Those dots on the sky (dust, noise?) are a bit distracting, but are easy to fix.

    Overall, it is great. Congratulations!

    Golden river

          1

This is a mountain river in a dry season. The water is low and flows

slowly. The picture was taken not on a dusk or dawn, but rather

mid-day. The river reflects trees with golden leaves behind the scene.

I liked it so much, I could not not share it with you. I realize there

are much more impressive photos out there, yet still I love the color

    so much.

The picture was taken while riding a car along the river. I regret I

did not realize the potential on the spot. I "got" it reviewing

pictures full-screen sitting in my chair at home a couple days later

    and couple hundred miles away.

Thank you very much, Steven. I agree with all you have said. We did take several pictures. I felt like this one was the best by a large margin. I am not so sure now. I will add another one soon.

This is excellent! It is so real, like it is more than a picture. I got a felling like I knew what my fingers would sense if I touched his face.

This is nicely done. I like the balance between the soil and ski. The clouds bing nore life to the picture. Would prefer less saturated skies and softer shadow, and, perhaps, much longer one.

Thanks, Tony. After thinking about your comment regarding the angle, I thought I might have overcropped it. BTW, when you look at the picture in larger size, this is a 100% crop, pixel for pixel.

Here is another crop, which is still only a third of original photo, which was vertical. 55 mm was the longest I had at my disposal.

Thank you. Here it is. I was reluctant to vertical format since I tilted the camera and the pic screamed for straithening, which leads to softening. The tilt is much less noticeable in landscape mode.

I like the softness of the picture. The pictures of the kind are usually sharper, crisper and contrasty. I enjoy this one very much. I would crop out the bright spot at the top. It makes the picture more alive, and yet distracts too much.
