Mine had not shown any defects in the covering either. Perhaphs it did come from a very humid environment. Check for rust...!

Thanks for the great suggestions. The dessicant concept is a go. Anyone know what type of location would sell them?

I am going to be travelling to a humid, dusty spot near the Tropic

of Cancer. I am only carrying a Domke bag and wondering if there

might be a proven suggestion(s) to eliminate the problems associated

with humidity and dust. Packing a 645 with 3 lenses.
