<p>I am interested to buy the GT2540, but can only find the GT2541 model from B&H. Is there any spec difference between the two?<br>
Also, can any user of the GT2541 let me know if it wil fit in the standard carry on luggage along the diagonal direction?<br>
Thx and wishes</p>

<p>I also wanted to upgrade to D90 from a 3-year old D50, but decided not to. Sure D90 is a nice camera, but I felt it still misses a few features. I therefore decided to wait for the next model, which I hope will have 1) more AF focus points for better 3D tracking; 2) tilting LCD for easier macro shooting; 3) better movie capture capacity.</p>

Russell, thank you for the information. Sure it helps.
Lil, thanks for the pointers about the Tamron. Could you let me know if the Tamron lens for Nikon mount have build-in focus motor? Also how is the focus speed? Though I have D50, I perfer having a lens with focus motor for future compatability.
Thx

Thank you Russell for sharing your experience with this lens. I am also looking for a long lens and is considering Sigma
150-500 and Tamron 200-500. Your photos look very nice. Do you find the Sigma too heavy/big for handhold? How
useful is the OS?
Thx Milton.

I saw an "Err" msg before after inserting one of my memory card to the camera. Reinserting the card solved the problem.

Just out of curiocity... 3rd party lens maker makes lens (eg. Telephoto 100mm
Macro) for both Nikon and Camnon mounts at same price. But isn't it true that
they put in focus motor in the C version, but not the N version?

Hi Shun and Oskar,
Thank you very much for your suggestions.
I am not sure if we can use the Nikon images since on the first link it mentions that "Nikon retains all usage rights to these images".
We don't want to stitch multiple images together either as it requires image processing whereas we would like to use raw images from the camera.
Anyway, your helps are appreciated.

Dear all,
Being computer science researchers, my collaborator and I are working on a
project, which evaluates different image enlargement algorithms and proposes a
new one. We would like to use a few high resolution images (more than 2520
pixels in both dimensions) for testing. However, my D50 can only get to 2000
pixel. I am wondering any of you are willing to share a few images with us.
The image content is not important, but we would like to have clean and
detailed photos that have not been PS-ed or jpg-compressed before.
If you share your images with us, we will assume that you give us the right of
using them for non-profit purpose only. We will always acknowledge the source
of the images when we use them.
Any help will be appreciated. Please email me at gongml@msn.com

Thank you Joe for clarification. It makes a lot sense. :)

r0X means the number of remaining pictures u can take continuously (in current burst) is X. After shooting X more pictures, the buffer will be filled up. You will have to wait the buffer being cleared (images transferred to the card) before taking more pictures.

I know how to use SB-600 as fill light for outdoor shooting, as well as how to
control it remotely using SU-800. However, I cannot find a way to set it to
remote TTL-BL mode. Could anyone help me out?

Has anyone used any portable data storage that has build-in SDHC card reader?
Would you please let me know which model did you get, as well as share your
experience with it? I searched photo.net but only found discussions for models
with SD and CF card readers.

Yes, all are VRII.

Download the opanda IEif viewer and use it to open one of the photos. It will show how many pics have been taken by the camera.

<I>I am able to get the foreground in focus and subject/background out of focus.</I><BR><BR>
Sounds like you focused on the wrong object. Try to focus on ur subject by focus, then compose.

You will get the same resolution when you resize any image to 10 inches with 300dpi, which is 300*10=3000 pixels.

Hi all,
I am considering of getting a Tokina AT-X 840. However, I found two similiar
versions at Tokina website:
AT-X 840 AF-II :
http://www.thkphoto.com/products/tokina/afl-08.html
AT-X 840 AF D :
http://www.thkphoto.com/products/tokina/afl-12.html
I am now confused. Could somebody tell me which version is the newer/better
one? What are the differences between the two version? It seems a lot people
online bought this lens at about $400. However, both B&H and adorama price it
at $649 and list it as out of stock as well. Is there any reason for this?
If you bought one, may I know where/when you got yours and how much you paid?
Thanks for your helps.

Thank you all for your feedback. Looks like I got confused with quite a few concepts: field of view vs. perspective; viewfinder magnification vs. zoom magnification. I certainly enjoyed reading all the posts, which helps me to clarify these concepts.
Best wishes

While I was playing with my D50 + 18-200, I noticed that, when the focal
length is set to 70mm, the image in the viewfinder matches the perspective of
my eyes. I was expecting either 50mm or 35mm (equivalent to 50mm on DSLR)
should give me the "normal" perspective.
Is this caused by the smaller viewfinder in D50? If so, may I know which
focal length in your camera matches the perspective of your eyes? I am also
interested to know whether different persons have different observations.
Thanks for sharing your experience and best wishes
