Yes Wolfgang, you're absolutely correct. Those of us who have experienced auto-rickshaws in India will immediately associate this form of commuting with utter chaos. Especially in the metros. Noisy, dangerously driven, and what have you? A nightmare if you're driving your car on the same roads as 'infested' by this from of transport. Hence the contrast strikes you.
Thanks for taking time to comment :-)

there was hardly enough light in the morning to get off a good shot.
had to shoot at 800ISO and a slow shutter speed, which obviously
resulted in noise. how does one handle these situations? the noise,
that is. If you clean the noise in PS, there is a marked loss in
sharpness.
suggestions and comments welcome.

awesome, simply put! how did you set this up?
-
used one main light and a pin-spot for highlights. how can i better
the lighting setup for a situation like this? need critique and
suggestions for improving the pic. what do i do to retain the tea
colour while cutting out the unnecessary shadows?

wow! nice tone and detail. dunno what lens you used for this one (do share the info...) but was a slightly more gradual focus possible? the top of the 'capstan' has gone out of the focus range. if a slightly higher d.o.f. was possible, maybe the strings would not go out of focus so suddenly. thatz kinda distracting, the sudden sharp focus of the strings to the left...
also, don't think you really need the foreground, so maybe you can crop that out?
like the shot anyway, just getting into critique mode :-)
cheerz!
