I always have a little fun with our christmas card. I had the idea for this
picture last year when I saw a picture of a puppy wrapped up in lights.
Getting this shot was a little more difficult than I thought. First, I could
not find big LED lights so I had to use regular s mas lights. That meant
that I could only have them on for 30 seconds at a time or else they
would get too hot. Also, my son thought this was a great idea, until he
realized that he could not move his arms for legs for 30 mins. All of the
sudden, ALL of his body itched.

Not what it seems. I took my kids to the National Art Gallery in
Washington DC a few days ago, once we got to this room they ran to
the bench and started fighting for the edge. I quickly grabbed the
camera and took this picture.. seconds before they both ended up on
the floor. When I took the picture I really just lliked the symmetry, I did
not realize that it looked as if they were appreciating the drawings.

A bit washed out on the top right corner.. I know. Do the power lines
take away or add to the picture?

Testing out Nikon D 700.
Taken @ Gatorland, FL. 70 - 200mm
So far the only thing I hate on the D700 is the cheap neck strap!

I took this picture of my son during a 2 hour "pirate cruise" in Clearwater
FL. I got a bit lucky on this one. I did not know about the sailboat until I
reviewed the images at the end of the day! Good thing I was bracketing.

I love this picture, his smile is so genuine. I admire that he is confident enough to smile that way even though his teeth arent perfect, I know many of us would never leave the house if our teeth looked like that. Perhaps the joke is on us... and this gentleman knows something we dont know.

I like the picture! Also, I like the fact that there is a slight camera tilt. The subject is leaning slightly to his right and seems to counter the tilt. The only thing that bothers me is that tiny candle peeking out of his left shoulder. 6/6 Great Shot!

Thank you all very much for your comments. I debated for a while whether to add color to the trumpet or not. This couple wanted ALL of their wedding photos in Black and White. I arranged their album in Chronological order and this was the very last photo, at the end I decided that it would be a nice to finish off the album with a touch of gold.
Tracy: Now that you mention it, I can see how it appears that the couple is sliding off the dance floor. I played around with the Cropping Angle to see if I can "stop them from sliding". I decided to leave it the way it is because I did not want to change the direction of the trumpet. I'll just tell people that they were doing the electric slide :)

In every wedding there is always some little kid who steals the
show and annoys the photographer by finding his way into every
shot. In this case it was my own kid! I just made the best of it.
Let me know if I went too far with the blur/motion effect.
Thanks
