Great camera. I gave mine to my daughter when I bought the A900 but many of my favorite images were
shot with the A700.

<p>Try posting on www.dyxum.com the Sony/Minolta user's site.</p>

<p>I love the A900 and kept it after buying the A99 because I was concerned about the EVF. Now I find I rarely shoot the A900. The A99 is a much better tool. </p>

<p>Sherry CLA'd my two M2s and my M3 (I bought the M3 used and sent it directly to Sherry!), they are all now just like new. Highly recommended for any Leica work.</p>

I think it is sad news. While the cameras in circulation will last many years (no doubt beyond most of our lifetimes), future
generations will not have the option to experience these remarkable cameras and the perfection of Hasselblad
engineering.

Outstanding work. So many stunning images!

I've had just a little time with the A99 but so far I am loving it. The features are incredible and I quickly adapted to the
EVF.

<p>Thanks James. I am holding on to my A900 in case I don't like the EVF but I hope it is a winner since Sony seems committed to EVF and the A850 and A900 might well be the last of their Optical Viewfinders. The A900 has one of the best viewfinders ever made!</p>

<p>Anyone have a chance to start shooting with the A99? If so, any feedback from photo.net users? I ordered one but haven't yet received it. Love to hear your early impressions. Thanks!</p>

<p>She CLA'd two M2s and an M3 for me recently and her work is perfection. In my opinion, worth the wait and every penny.</p>

B&H has knocked $1,000 off the price of the M9-P and $500 off the M-9. I've wanted the silver M9-P since day one but
perhaps a used M9 is a better option. The M looks great but the price...

<p>Congratulations! I sold mine XE-7 and XD a few years ago and immediately regretted doing so! Enjoy it, it is a classic and a real beauty.</p>

Beautiful images. I especially love the Colonial Church. Thanks for sharing!

Re: Minolta, I agree with Robert re: the XD-11and XD-7. The only one I haven't owned is the XK. On the Nikon side, the
F3 is a gem. Les, you have some great cameras!

I started with a Rollei 2.8F TLR. Small, light, built like a swiss watch, and very easy to use. Then bought a Rollei 6008i
and loved the system but dealer support and service was terrible (at least here in the U.S.). A short time with the Mamiya
7ii which was compact and the results were amazing (great glass) but the system has it's limitations (I had no issues with
it being a rangefinder - I use and love Leica RFs) for portrait and closeup work. Still have the 2.8F and looking here on
Photo.net forums for the next MF system, Likely to go with Hasselblad - the prices for used are so low and the system
offers everything I found lacking with the 6008i and Mamiya 7ii.

A77
in Sony/Minolta
<p>I am on the Sony (USA) web site and they show the A77 in stock either with lens or body only ($1,399).</p> -
<p>The 6003 is my favorite of the series (or the expensive 6008AF). The 6003 is smaller and except for not having interchangable backs (you can update the film gate and change backs) it does everything the 6008 does in a smaller package.</p>

<p>PC B - Leica listened and changed the pattern on the M9. Three is the five sections are grey (light grey in the middle and darker grey in the next two sections working from the center outwards).</p>

<p>I have purchased several cameras (all used) and had camera repairs done in Germany and more often than not been charged a very high (20-25% of appraised value) import tax from Germany. You'll probably have to decide between paying the tax or declaring a low value for insurance purposes. </p>

<p>I can't help w/this problem but just wanted to comment that the inside of a Leica M is remarkable and you have more guts than I do - I'd never look "under the hood."</p>
<p>Sherry at Golden Touch made my M2's as good as new. Her work it tops.</p>
-
<p>My choice was made for me too. Only black was available and I love it. Whichever one you buy, you'll probably love it and lust after the other. I'd love a chrome M9-P...</p>

<p>Wow, I would be scared to death to try that with my M9 (maybe the old M8 in a pinch, but probably not!). Glad to hear no damage was done. Would it be much safer to leave the dust until able to service properly and just photoshop the specks out?</p>

<p>Leica MP followed by M2 and then Nikon F6. All great cameras!</p>

F6 is an amazing camera if you decide to go with a film camera. If digital, I love the D3s but even used prices are still
relatively high.
