Hi Larry,
I appreciate your honest comments. Something that we all lovers of photography learn to live with, is that our images will be loved by some and disliked by others, because of its subjective component.
To me, the subject (focal point) of this image is both actually, the lake which works as a path leading to the glacier in the background.
In fact, the water of this lake comes from that glacier, I understand the color is due to the minerals in the bottom of the lake. There are several aqua color lakes in this part of the Peruvian Andes. I am Peruvian by the way.
I can see your point on the frame, unfortunately, it is the only digital frame I use when I post my images in my website which has a dark background so the contrast is not that hurtful :)
I looked some of the images you have posted, they are very nice. I enjoy Yosemite very much and I hope to visit the Patagonia some time soon.
Thanks again.

Thank you very much for your feedback.
This shot was taken very early in the morning, there were actually 4 (mom and 3 cubs). These 2 turned their heads because there was a hyena coming at them.

This is a beautiful part of Cusco, Peru. Narrow streets and colorful
balconies, doors and windows. A wonderful place to spend some time
taking photos.
