I have recently recieved a Calumet View camera, and it came with a 545
polaroid back. How do you actualy use one.

i want to buy a sunpak 120j. what is the differance between a dedicated and
non dedicated type. If all the dedicated type means is the ttl option is it
pointless to buy one if you dont use ttl. one more thing, will a pocketwizard
fire it.

i want to buy a nikon d200
i found one at ccicameracity.com for $1129
is this reasonable??

does the 15mm canon fisheye equal 15mm on the 20d if not what lens would bring
me closest to 16mm
-
I would like to know if there is a reasonable fisheye on the market that
equals the nikon one. Ive found the sigma 8mm but im afraid it will make my
pictures too fishy. What is the equivilent of 8mm on a film camera to 8mm on a
diig?

ive reaserched and looked for what digital camrea will suit me good. the canon
1d mark 2 is what i need. i dont have a big budget so i looked on ebay for
one. ive found 4 or 5 bodies that claim to be brand new in a box for less then
500 dolars. is this belieeble, i mean thats less then 1/4 of the 4 grand bh is
asking for. is this a risk taking buy or are they so cheap because of where
they come from (ive noticed most of them were from china)do those cameras just
grow on trees there. if i baught this camrea i could even afford the lenses i
need since my set up right now is all nikon. a fisheye a 50mm lens and a nice
zoom lens would be great.

its just for testing. i understand it wont be exacly the same.its just will it generate about the right idea of exposure. i usualy get the exposure right but getting medium format slides developed and printed is kind of pricey id like to know ahead of time.

i want to buy a polaroid back. i uderstand that the speed of
polaroid film is diferent. i dont really understand the concept.
before i decide to buy it can someone just describe it to me. is
there anything special i need to do.

i mostly shoot skateboarding so a camera with a sync of 250 wouldbe perfect. i have a manual nikon that syncs at 125 on really sunny days i can usualy get a photo without any blury spots. and i would like to start shooting digital.
-
the nikon d50 and d70. when i try to find out the maximum flash syn
of those cameras i always see 1/500 of a second. this isnt all the
time thought, corect? thats only when you use ttl? i would like to
purchase a digital nikon that syncs at 250 using regular
flashes.what should i look for
-
used the same cord for both flashes

i just got my pocket wizards. both recievers work. but will only
fire one of my flashes. the flash that wont fire is my vivitar
2800,ive come to the conclusion that the voltige is to high in that
flash so the wizard wont fire it. whats the difference between
dedicated and non dedicated flashes. my other flash that fires no
matter which wizard its hooked up to is an vivitar auto thy.550 fd
which i think is a dedicated flash. will the vivitar 560d work i
think i wil purchase that.
-
thanks. i knew the whole 1/8 and did conect my flash to the lens. i just didnt know if you could also just use the hot shoe. wouldnt have to mess around witha pc cord.
-
do i have to have my flash conected to the lens for correct sync. or
can i pop it into my cameras hot shoe when i use a leaf shutter
-
-
I have been using a dome and i use a regular flash no ttl
-
ive gotten my first fer rolps of slides and prints from my mamiya
645 when the picture is on the slides the colors look really nice
and sharp but on the prints they come out really flat looking. also
while im shooting the focus is correct but comes out really unsharp
in my prints. could this just be the lab that i get my prints done
at.? does the leaf shutter change anything ive been using it alot.

I've recently got the minolta Vf flash meter and when i mesure
ambitent light i get ok results but when i use a flash they just
look weird. explain this do you hold the meter infront of the camera
or the subject? my results just come out odd both over and under
exposed.

I have a Nikon FM10 and a Mamiya 645 with a leaf shutter lens. I Have one Vivitar 2800 and an old vivitar 550fd. Right now i just have one on camera flash and set my optical slave hotshoe and a flash on a stand. What i want to do is buy one infered transmiter possibly from wein and then two wein recievers that have household plugs. In order to put it to use i will need to get two hot shoes that have household outlets. But this seems like alot of equipment to buy so am i looking at it wrong?
-
If I buy an infered transmitter, then buy 2 household plug
recievers, will i be able to plug those recievers into a hotshoe
with a household plug. Then just put the transmitter im my camera
shoe then just set up my flashes and be ready to go, will they both
go off? What are the "chanels"? And flashes that have the little red
piece of plastic on them will they sense the infered signal without
an aditional reciever. I think that would be cheaper then buying all
those recievers and household hotshoes. I apreciate all help because
i dont know too much about infered slaves. I've been using optical
slaves but they arent very reliable.
-
Thaks alot, that really helped.

I'm wondering if the Minolta IV flash meter is a good meter. Also
I've never used a meter before so is this the idea: You set your
flashes where you want them, then make the settings on the meter
match your camera(ISO, shutter speet etc.), then just fire the
flashes and set the F-stop to what the meter says. Will i be able to
meter a fireing of 2 to 3 flashes at once?
-
I like the results that i get with my Mamiya and the kiev fisheye, their great. I also recently purchased a 55mm leaf shutter lens for that camera, although i just recieved it a cupple days ago and havent gotten to use it yet. I guess the only thing im worried about is the flash sync. What i wanot to know is if a leaf shutter lens is neccessary in a 500series hassy, is there no shutter in the camera? Keep in mind that I mostly shoot skateboarding so a fast shutter speed is very important to me. Thanks for all of your help.
-
I'm really confused about Hasselblad cameras. I would like to own a
500 series hassy but is every lens i have to purchase going to be in
the thousands of dollars. I take a lot of fisheye shots so i would
need a fisheye lens, but the only one i know of is 7000 dollatrs i
just dont have that amount of money. Is there an alternative?
55mm sync problem
in Medium Format
Posted
I have a 55mm leaf shutter lens that will not fire my flash via lens. I've
had this lens for about a year and a half and it worked as it should. One day
I pulled it out and it wouldn't fire anymore. I went to the photo store to
get it checked out and miraculously it worked. But when I switched the
shutter speed it wouldn't work again even on the shutter speed I was at in the
begining. Well the price they gave me is $175. My first question is if this
is reasonable. The other question is that will I still get the same sync if I
just use the hotshoe on the body. I don't know why but I just got 2 rolls of
film back that were completly black. I'm not sure though that may be just my
mistake.
