This is a portrait of HipHop artist Sunny Black. Would love to hear
any critical comments on the image expecially, on the lighting.

they both look wonderful, the pose and camera angle work wonderfully. I would just burn in that haze at the botom of the frame. otherwise nice portrait!

any and all comments!! Thank You!

The Bride and Uncle to the bride were salsa dancing as this image was
captured. It was a wild party in Puerto Rico.

i like the exposure you chose for this image, the only thing that i would change or well that i think would be an improvement would be to lose some of the blacks in the bottom of the picture. it seems to be a bit distracting from your skateboarder. i used to skate and get a few boarding magazines and this image is definately away from the norm, i would keep working and experimenting! it looks like a good direction.

im guesing its a guitar? i would say its a great abstract shot. nice play with depth of field, that gives you more abstraction. the nice subtlety of the curve and neck give you a hit of what it is, the out of focus foreground almost makes the strings float. im not sure what that part is called. id like to see this blown up huge, atleast 16x20. too bad my monitor isnt that big :P
one last thing i would say is play with the lighting, it does seem a tad flat. move it so that more is hitting what your shooting from the front. just try it i guess, im not really all that great with lighting myself.

penetencia means penitent? i see where your going from here, but its not really telling a story. we cant see from the image if he is going to be on the cross, or if he is going to be putting christ on the cross. decide first what your trying to say, then decide how. look up rembrant, he painted an image of chrsit already nailed onto the cross but then being lifted up. he painted himself as one of the people placing christ on the cross, stating that it was his fault that christ needed to take the nails for his sin.

the image itself looks "fine art" your shedding light on the interesting texture, and change in texture on the wall. red and green are also complimentary colors so the red window and the nice green grass are pleasing to look at. the title, shadow effect and bordering look extremely amateur in comparison to the shot itself. the text is a distraction visually, and text tends to be. thats why most photographers sign with a fine pen. the shadow effect is just cheesy and distracting. i say all of that from the upper level Graphic Design courses ive taken. i hope it helps you have a solid image :)

i really enjoy painting with light. it looks like a good start, ive done some myself.

the back ground is a little hot, mabey 1/2 stop underexposed would give you better color and blend the forground (the DJ) with the back ground a little better.

besides the fact that this "water drop" effect or style of shot is popular now, working closesly to cliche, HOW does a canon eos-1 dropping in water have anything to do with that line of cameras because the last thing this image falls under is a product shot. the camera isnt water proof from my knowledge and even if it is they would have it outdoors somewhere being used.

im not really a fan of the image itself, the treatment is good, and encourages a mood. if this was the only picture i saw it would look like the man was crushed by the weight of a burden (the cross) Christ looks defeated here when the story is about redemption, resurection and any picture of christ should express this..
Isaiah 61
The Year of the LORD's Favor
1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
christ quotes that himself when he starts his ministry.

weather looks good from here. i dont understand how its bad.

i think the reason he wants the path to be off to the right is because the hole at the end is centered completly. if it was moved off to the left i think it would add to the image because it has a nice curve too it. most of the time by centering the focus of the image it lowers the interest of the viewer.
Great work on the aesthetic treatment of contrast. the whole image looks very sharp and well great :) i like to shoot similar landscapes.

i really enjoy the tones and contrast int he image. it is gridded out well also, nice balance and focal points between the man and the drain. the blur effect is cheesey. it doesnt look like shallow depth of field, i do like the effect and that you were trying to create the depth of field because there is a nice blend of focus between the spout and the man who is out of focus. id say work on layering the blur so it isnt so sharp. by that i mean that its completely in focus then an immediate blur, more of a gradient blur. if its more of a gradient it will look like shallow depth of field.

beautiful texture, light, movment and line :) id love to see a print of this. the color is magnificent. not sure what else to say this isnt the most constructive critique ive ever given :p

did you post this image to get a critique or just to get applause? i posted my view. ive seen many many excelent wildlife images. ive seen beautiful wildlife documentary photography as well as simple bird captures. the bird is blurred. because of the movement, i see what your going for but my OPINION was that it wasnt successful yet. if the image is blurred and there is only a narrow spot that is in focus that is where the viewers attention is going to be drawn, the water.

the bird is more in focus in this image thus in my OPINION making it more successful.
