I recently got asked to shoot a commercial project, and am lost as to how to price it out...Was wondering if there

where any professionals out there who have done this before that could help me out or point me in the right direction.

The shoot is for a product, and the end result that the company would like are: CD’s with high resolution pictures.

they will use these pictures for product brochures, advertising, trade displays, website, etc.

i have a Tamron 17-50 2.8 , a nikon 50 1.8 , 70-200 2.8 vr , a fisheye ( tokina ) and a 12-24 i think ( Tamron )

A friends band wants me to shoot them whilst at their cd release party. I am unaware of the lighting situation as they

have yet to book the venue where it will be at. I was just wodnering if those of you who have D300's could show me

some examples of your band photography as well as give me any tips/// thank you in advance

I love my new G9! I have a quick question though, maybe you guys and gals can help me out. I did a recent video,

and didnt put the wind function on to cut it down, didnt even realize it was windy...anyway... with the programs

supplied... is there a way to kill the sound that it recorded or at leas tturn it down and put like a song over top

instead, so u dotn hear what was originally recorded? Thank you in advance for all and any help

Every time I used to load images into lightroom, it would separate it, like if I shot something last wednesday, and

then another this thursday. Now, for some reason, that separation is gone and I have all the photos from all my

shoots on the bottom of that thing. So , when I want to export images from the recent shoot, I have to click each one

I want saved, as to before I could just select all. Anybody have any idea what I did, or what got messed up?

Hey all, I'm rackin my brain, wondering if you guys can help... Anytime i try doing

anything with vista and my D300 Raws, my damn Explorer crashes. Or it prevents

me from doing what i want it to do. I am trying to transfer my raw files onto dvd and

it crashes it. I don't know what it is... i tried drag and drop and i think even when i

try going through roxio, it does the same thing... is there something i am missing?

I have a 17-50 tamron , which is on its way out due to build quality , thinkin about getting a24-70. I also have a 70-200 2.8 vr a 12-24 tokina, a fisheye, and a 50 1.8 - I shoot weddigns and want to do more available light... i was thinking of just getting it because i am already invested in nikon stuff or, possibly pickign up a cheap canon with a zoom for the available light stuff

Have you noticed a major difference? Any good or bad things? I am debating

whether to jump up a model...

 

also, I primarily shoot in Raw, I currently use picasa, or lightroom for the

conversions... If I do decide to make the short leap to the D300, do I have to

use Capture NX to do the conversions? or can I use the same software...

I've seen some image son ken rockwell's site of D300 noise, but I would like to

see more examples of High iso performance... I currently have a D200 and find

it to be crap when trying to pull shadow detail out here and there. I am torn

between getting the D300 or the 5d...If anybody has examples they could show or

quirks they have come across, I would greatly appreciate it

I recently shot a wedding, but I didn't sync the times on the cameras. So, when

uploading from the CF cards - and put into folders, it's not a big problem. My

problem is, after editing them and doing minor photoshop I want to send it to

MPIX for my proofbook. Now when I do that, the images are scattered all over.

As in, there are some from the end of the night on the first page, the bride

getting ready a few pages in, and I want to get it in sequential order. Is

there a way I can organize it where I dont have to go through every image or

something where once I put it in a certain order on my computer it will stay in

the same order when uploaded?

I am trying to change the color of a shirt of arecent wedding i did. one of

the groomsman wore red. I got it somewhat in photoshop with the replace color

function and the eyedropper, in fact, it looks pretty damn good. only thing is,

there are similar colored objects in the photo, aka the door and some of the

grooms hair. and when i do the eye dropper to make the shirt look good, it

changes the other colors as well that are similar... is there any way to have

it just change the color of the shirt and not anything else?

I shot it Raw, The client wants the house not in it... Unfortunately i was screwed from any angle i shot it... i was on a 30 ft lift, with telephone wires wherever i shot from... so it looks like the tree is the only option , thank u guys for yer help

I shot this photo, and aside from the distortion ( which i can fix in

photoshop ) THey want me to remove the house to the right , only problem is the

white cloud is in that general area, if i try cloning it, it doesnt look right.

Can anyone recommend what I should do? This is a rough cut... just trying to

show what I am talking about. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have done a few weddings here and there, I am just start off in the business,

and was recently asked by a venue if I had proof of insurance. I had never

heard of it, yet when I asked a good DJ friend of mine, he said it was pretty

commonplace... Can anyone recommend what I should be looking for? I am just

starting out and only have a few gigs for the year...What should I do? any and

all help would be greatly appreciated...

Can anyone recommend a good raw converter I own a PC with Vista on it, and rea

dthat Bibble and Lightroom werent the best for that... I am currently using

Picasa, was jsut wondering what you all use...

How many of you throw caution to the wind, and use them? Not that it matters

but B&H is offering rebates for their sandisks... Quite tempting... but I was

just wondering if others go the safe route and stick with the 4's in case of

image loss...

smugmug is fine, I just have all of my stuff on zenfolio...i emailed their customer service to see when it would be made available they said about 4 to 6 weeks, so i will hold out until then, it saves me having to move everything... if not i will switch to smugmug... but on the suggestions i have read here, i am gonna check out printroom right now

I currently use zenfolio as my photo website, only problem is, they dont offer

a way for me to control pricing of my images, is there an online hosting thing,

other then smugmug that is relatively cheap for hosting my images and changing

the prices so that i can sell them directly off the net?

I recently did a photo shoot of a co worker, here is my snafu... it was a shot

of her in her bathing suit... She wants to change the color of the bathing suit

as well as , dont laugh, make her chest bigger... I looked around on the net

and in some books, I couldnt really find anything... as for the second part all

i know is to \possibly go to distort and spherize... is there a better way?<div></div>
