  1. Hi Cherene,  I loved your images not least because I grew up in good old Sheppie and went to school there up to 1962.  Yes, I am 71 now.  My attention was drawn to your image, Sea Park, as the SAR sign looked so familiar.  Good luck for the future with your Hassy and 120 film.  As you mention, film photography is painfully expensive in SA especially if you choose to scan.  Warm regards,  Fritz Carlsson

The South African Air force (SAAF) sent pilots to the Korean War in the early 1950s.  This picture must have been taken in Korea where the South Africans flew Mustangs and later Sabres.  Two of our former chiefs of the SAAF,       Lt.-Generals Rogers and Earp, flew in the Korean War.

  2. In South Africa we see a lot of pictures of this very spot at Sossusvlei, Namibia, with the same tree. However, I have never experienced the scene taken under these light conditions. This is outstanding. You have captured something quite extraordinary at a site that has become somewhat "hack" among photographers in southern Africa.

A classy pose with drmatic lighting by an amazingly beautiful and sophisticated model. The stocking tops add just that little extra. Congratulations

Robert Holmes: Krushchev, Brezhnev........ would have used the Lubyanka as a repose for our photographer. Treblinka belonged to the other mob who produced the likes of Hitler and Himmler!
