I like the new look. Congrats, good work! And as for the adds, i use firefox 2.0 so there aren't any :)
Just a little thing to work on: the comments left by others in my portfolio aren't so very well lined out on the leftside of the page.

Exactly John, and that is why i don't care and don't take it seriously when someone (anonymously) gives me a 3/3 WITHOUT any comment/reason.
We all know that there are some people who ( i think) take pleasure in giving 3/3 without leaving any comment and caring about that won't solve that problem don't you think?
-
I don?t care if someone anonymous gives me a 3/3. I just know that the people who regularly look at my photo's give a comment and tips as to improve my picture when they think it deserves a 3/3. And i am greatful for that. It's all about learning isn't it?
As for the topphotos, i don't know exactly how that works. I think my pics aren?t good enough (yet) to show up there :)

I am sorry to hear about the problems. Thanks for the message.
I hope everything will be back to normal again soon.
Good luck!

I looks nice, but how do i get there to request critiques on my own photos? When i use the link on the right i get an error saying: Not Found The requested URL was not found on this server.
-
It is always nice to see that people like the photos i make.
It is also nice, but absolutely not neccesary, when they rate my pictures. When i get low ratings it does not change my opinion about the photo, because i don't place photo's on PN that i don't like. :) But i really want to know why the give low ratings, because then i can learn from the comments and improve my photos.
That is why i dislike this anonymous rating. I don't learn anything from it. The other day i got ratings for my dog Dude. People gave me 6 and 7 with their names behind it. There were also anonymous ratings 3/3 ?
I really wanted to know what was wrong with the photo. Probably i will never know.

I found someone who is going to help me.
So, i will remove the photos from photonet.
Thanks for your attention.

Ok Brian, i completely agree with what you suggest. Problem is, that i can't do that ;-). My photoshopskills go no further than what you see in my pictures. I have never learned to make alterations or work with layers and so on. I want to learn that in future but at this moment i can't.

Emre, I know. But that is the minimum required size according to the digidoek-site. My pictures are much bigger than that, they are 3264 x 2448, so that is not the problem. Even when some parts of the photo are cropped there still remains about 1600 pix .

Jayme, i made 2 compositions: I posted them in the TEMPORARY FOLDER in my portfolio: the green one was the first and that's the one not good enough for the bag. The 2nd one i made yesterday but i am not satisfied with that one either.
Perhaps you can make something of it?

Jayme, i will upload it as soon as i come home in a couple of hours so that you can see it.

Desperately seeking for HELP!
For the last 3 days i have tried to make a composition of 4 photo's.
I have ordered a so called citybag for a very dear friend. I will
place the link so that you can see what i mean:
http://www.digidoek.nl/html/producten.html#
Ok, i made a compostion from the 4 photos with different backgrounds
and sent it to the company that manufactures the bags, but they
called me and told me that the quality was not good enough to print.
They said that it was very clear to see that the pictures were
pasted on the background and the borders were too ugly :(. Because
the bag is pretty expensive, they did not want to print it that way.
For at least 3 days i am now trying to get it right but i don't
succeed.
I don't have very much time, because i want to give it to my friend
on the 23rd of april and the company needs 20 days to deliver it.
So this is my question: IS THERE ANYONE WHO WANTS TO DO THIS FOR ME?
I could sent the 4 pictures per email as well as 'my composition' so
that you can see what it should be like.
It must be 40 x 30 centimeters, at least 630 x 472 pixels or more,
JPG or TIFF format.
I don't have enough skills with paintshop or photoshop to do this
right so any help would be very highly appreciated.
It's on a very short notice, i know, but please HELP!

I also bought this 35mm ZD lens in december last year. Actually i preferred the 50mm but that one is much too expensive for me. And now I am very pleased with my 35mm and it is either the macro or the 40-150 mm lens which is connected to my E300.
If you want to see the macro/close-ups i made with the lens, check my portfolio. Practically all the flowers are made with it and also the B&W
portrait (Colin).

Thank you Patrick. I will get in touch.

@ Jeremy Stein: this is a very poor answer. I've tried to become a member but I don't have a creditcard. In december last year i even sent a mail to ask if there are other possibilities to pay the membership. I got no answer!
But then again , there is already a thread about the issue of non-members: http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=00EYrX
@Nanette: perhaps i should indeed lower my expectations for this site.
However, i got some respons from very good photographers and i am very pleased with that. So i am not complaining.
Yesterday I only noticed that 1600 ppl looked at my picture submitted for critique and no one bothered to give any comment.
@ Will: this is a very nice initiative. I will look at it when i get back from work tonight. Thank you for the link.

I sometimes ask myself " why should i put my photo's up for critique
and/or rating when nobody is interested in them? "
1600 views within the hour and no response or whatsoever.
Sad!

OMG, please tell me where I have to go to get all this knowledge and artistic ability for the amount of $ 25,00 ?
I am not a paying member, not yet, but i consider myself being a member of this fantastic site by registrering. For the moment i am looking around and enjoying the wonderful pictures from paying members as well as non-paying members. I hope to learn a lot from both.
As for ratings on my photographs, very much appreciated but i only publish photo's on this site that i like very much myself, so negative comments are not really affecting me. However, i can be very pleased with comments (good or bad) given by members who have a good inspiring professional portfolio themselves and i don't care if they are paying or non-paying member.
All my best wishes for 2006!
(Forgive my poor english, i am Dutch)
