I love the composition, the contrasts in colors and textures between the wood grain, chain, dirt, and the dark background. The lighting (sunset?) lighting creates some nice dimension and really brings out the texture of the wood. The colors, particularly on the chain, seem to be a bit oversaturated - you might want to pull it back a bit. Overall it's a nice shot!

I took this photo on November 10, 2010 near Fort Point, at the base of the
Golden Gate Bridge, where a heavy chain fence guards the waterline. It
was a 30-second exposure, with some help in lighting from a night
roadwork crew working high on the hills above. Shot with a Sigma 10-20m
ultrawide lens.

The foreground light was cast from high above, where workmen had a
bright light set up for road construction.

This is a photo of Jack Kirk, the 99-year old "Dipsea Demon". Jack holds the record for the
most consecutive foot races run - 68 in a row at the annual Dipsea Race in Mill Valley, CA.
No longer running, this photo was taken at the finish line as he watched this year's
runners finish the race.
Canon at Fort Point

I took this photo at Fort Point, San Francisco last week. The shot is
taken in the gallery where canons are positioned to shoot at incoming
enemy boats coming into the Bay. The canon in the center of the image
is mounted on a carriage with a spare wheel mounted on the back.
Photo taken with my Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 24-70mm f2.8 lens, shot
at 28mm, wide open at 2.8, ISO1000. The lighting is all natural mid-day
afternoon sunlight and I shot this handheld.
I particularly like all the different color shades and directional sweep of
the light. Any critiques are welcome and encouraged - let me know how
this shot can be improved so we all an learn! Thanks.
