Hi,
I have 2 Nikon D300 and BOTH started to have this problem after 2 weeks heavy usage. Both only have this problem in combination with then Nikon AFS VR 70-200 2.8. If you use this lense it has a bigger tollerace within the bajonett - you can turn it about 2mm to the left and right - this does not happen on a D200, F5, D3 or so on... If you use other lenses on the D300 it does also not happen. - So if now you have the lense in a somewhat bad position - there is a contact problem and you get eiter a F0 error or a battery error displayed and a black picture taken.
I have opened a service request at Nikon. In this state the cameras are nearly useless with the 70-200 VR. And also sometimes: I get a flatter within the VR...

Hello,
it might sound stupid, but I have a PB6 and tried to use it with the
D70. How can you change the aperture settings? Which mode is the
best? I tried Manual - but could not set the aperture... Do I need
some more equipment to use the D70 with the PB6 and get the settings
from the lens transmittedt to the camera body? is this possible?

That's not the thing I want to do. I do not like getting 3/3 or below without any comments...
I just thought I am to stupid to find the feature to rate anonymous...

Hello,
I am a member and was wondering how you can rate anonymous. I do not
want to do so - but tried to use photo.net on another computer
without logging in - then you can not rate. I wonder where the
anonymous ratings come from...

Hi,

I would never ever give my 24-70 away... it is brilliant, sharp - and solid... In combination with the 14-24 and 70-200 you would have a perfect coverage of focal length. I am travelling a lot - with heavy gear - but never found that my 70-200 or other lenses are to heavy to take with me...
Comparing the 3 fixed focal lenses with the zoom - makes not realy sense for me, since the fixed ones are IMO for a different kind of usage. I also have an 85 1.4 - great lense - but never take it with me on an expedition. One of the major reasons for me is: I do not want to change lenses often in the field - not only getting dust into the camera - but I always have the wrong lense on the Cam - when I need it - So I have to boddies - one with the 70-200 and the other with eiter 14-24 or 24-70 - this works well for me...
