I have no previous training or knowledge in photography..I'm not sure

if I'll have time for a real school so I think I'm going to attend

School of Visual Arts workshops in NY instead of attending a

community college?

Please tell me what you guys think. I'm currently pursuing a career

in a different field so I can pay for the bills and help my family

out but I believe photography is my passion. I don't want to get

stuck doing something i dont love but I don't have the pleasure of

going to a school to get a degree in photography.

I've never had a digital slr camera and i think i want to buy one.

I'm just a beginner and i want a really good one and cheap at the

same time. Any suggestions?

I'm just starting on photography and don't know where to start. I

don't know anything about photography. I only know how to take

photographs. I only have digital cameras. Do I need to have an SLR?

I know a bunch of good schools who offer photography. I like FIT,

Parsons School of Design, School of Visual Arts and Tisch. The

problems are: Parsons, SVA and Tisch are expensive; and FIT only

offer full time classes. I don't have time and money for that.

Is it advisable to just attend workshops?
