I have a great little Minolta Maxxum 5D. The lens that came with it,
(18-70 3.5/5.6) doesn't seem so good.
I've been thinking of getting a Sigma 18-50 F/2.8 EX DC or a Tamron SP AF 17-50
2.8. Di II LD.
My past history with these companies is that I leaned towards Tamron as far as
quality goes, but that was a long time ago in the film days. Does anyone have
some thoughts on this?
Thanks

Question:
Has anyone out there heard of or has any experience with Osawa
lenses?
I've been looking for a 24mm lens for my Pentax ME Super on EBAY and
came up with this lens that I think I would like to try out. Don't
want to spend a lot of bucks for for that type of lens I may not
have any intrest in after trying it.
I never heard of Osawa, so I thought I'd ask the experts.
Thanks

I need some help on lenses. My cameras are Minolta Maxxum 5 and 5D.
I have collected the following lenses over the years.
Minolta 50mm 1.4, Minolta 18-70mm 3.5-5.6, Sigma 28-80mm 3.5-5.6,
Tamron 28-105mm 4-5.6, Tamron 28-200mm 3.8-5.6. After looking at
what have, it seems like I'm duplicating here and missing what I
really need. Any advise from you folk will be really appreciated.

I have been using a Maxxum 5 and playing with a Sony DSC-P32 digital
camera for quite a while now. This year, Santa decided that I needed
a Maxxum 5D since I have been having way too much fun with the Sony.
In trying to learn the 5D, I noticed that I don't see the subject in
the LCD monitor like I did the Sony prior to taking the pic. I can
only review the pics that I already shot. Is that the case or have I
not found the instructions for setting up the monitor to preview the
subject yet?
I guess it's a dumb question, but thought I'd ask anyway to save
some time and frustration.
I welcome all the help I can get on this.
Thanks

Houston Camera Exchange. On Richmond between Chimney Rock and Fountianview. Was there today. Still quite a few of the same people working there. They have thinned out some on their used equipment by going to Ebay, but still quite a bit left there. Great Place!

I've been taking pictures for a long time now.
We moved from TX. to Oklahoma about a year ago. my wife and her daughter started 3 gardens around the house.
1 bulb garden, 1 Rose garden and 1 mixed flower garden.
I've been kind of slacking off taking pictures since we moved to OK. Gettin old I guess.
All of a sudden I realised I had all these beautiful flowers to work with.
I think I would love to try getting into Macro photography. I have been reading about it in the photo Mags. ie Popular
Photography and Outdoor Photography. But I get a little confused with all that.
Now that that's said.
What I have in the way of Photo equipment is as follows.
Sony A100 digital camera.
Sony 18 - 70, 3.5 - 5.6 (came with the A100)
Minolta Maxxum 5 (35mm) and I even have my Minolta X700.
Minolta 24mm, 2.8
Minolta 50mm, 1.4
Minolta 100mm 2.8 macro
Tamron 28 - 200 3.8 - 5.6
Tamron 70 - 300 4.0 - 5.6
My Question is..........What lens do I use to get the beautiful macro Pics, and
do I need something other than what I have? Should I ditch some that I do have?
That's about it.
Respectfully
