The Dell has no SD card slot, no VGA out or HDMI output to drive a projector.

So, you would need to carry two displayport dongles for projector output and a card reader to read SD cards.
This hardly seems to be a wise choice for photo use..
Sony updates can be turned off and bloatware, whether it be from Sony or Dell can be removed.

Hi all,

I've just published a review of the Sony Duo 11 tablet computer.
I have found it to be a perfect laptop and tablet replacement for the mobile photographer.

See http://wyofoto.com/Lula-Articles/Sony_Duo_11/Sony_Duo_11_review.html

It meets my needs very well, of course YMMV.

Questions are welcome if you need more info.

Enjoy,
Miles

I do fine art printing professionally. I've made many hundreds of prints that are hanging in commercial galleries in the US. You can see some at the Brookover Gallery in Jackson WY, if you care to visit it.
The article is about the ultimate high quality print size that one IMO can achieve with a given camera under ideal conditions. Of course the photographer matters. In fact 90% of all cameras are better than the people that use them. However the buyer believes he or she has the potential for taking a great picture and would like to know which camera is the "best". I get a least one email a month asking about this very question.
I have published an article like this for about eleven years to give people my opinion on the matter. It is my opinion, based on my experience, of course YMMV.

Hi All,

I've posted my latest thought on digital cameras for landscape photography as of January 2013.

See http://wyofoto.com/Digital_landscape_cameras_2013.html

It's likely to be controversial in some quarters.

Enjoy,
Miles

Monopods are allowed on most days.
A walking pole with a screw mount for a ballhead will always be allowed.
If you are with a guide, you probably will not be checked at all.
If you come in from the top via the Inca Trail you can take anything you want!
I had my full size Gitzo tripod and a big camera pack.

The 5D will blow the 50D away in low light.
I have owned both at the same time and would never select the 50D over the 5D in low light situations.

My 5Dmk2 is 21MP. The 645D is 40MP.

To me that is 90% greater not 50%.

Since I tend to shoot close to 4:3 aspect ratio rather than 3:2, it is effectively 2x the areal the resolution of my 5dmk2.

My friend Steve Kornreich sold his H3D-39 because it would not work below 20°F and Hasselblad service would not support for use at that temperature.

Perhaps you got lucky?

Part 1 of my Pentax 645D review is now online.

See http://wyofoto.com/Pentax_645D/Pentax_645D_review_pt1.html
In part 1 there are some 5Dmk2 vs 645D comparison shots.
All input is welcome.

Part 2, the field test "From Blizzard to Desert" will be here in the next several days.

-

For the studio shot, the camera makers 100mm macro lens was used on each camera.

For the outdoor shot the Canon 24-70mm lens was used on the 5Dmk2 and the Pentax 45mm-85mm lens was used on the 645D.

The Canon shots were all taken an aperture of f8. The Pentax shots were all taken at an aperture of f11.

You begin to see a real difference in prints at 24"x36", at 30"x40" the difference is huge.

All the lenses are fully available in both the UK and Japan.

I don't what the problem is with Pentax USA. !!

To Robert, the surface texture of the Canson Platine is almost identical to the Gold Fiber Silk.
The Silver Rag has slightly more tooth or texture than either of these.
