  1. Well... things are getting very interesting indeed...

    1. There is already talk of the EOS 350D (aka Rebel XT) seriously encroaching on the feature set of EOS 20D (let alone the huge difference in price)...

    2. Now, Nikon just announced its Nikon D200, so the EOS 20D now seems seriously outdated...

    www.dpreview.com/news/0511/05110104nikond200.asp

    3. So which do you think is better?

    Canon EOS 5D vs. Nikon D200 ?

    4. On a side note, the Nikon D200 still use the 1.5X CMOS sensor...

so guess Canon won't be hurrying to incorporate full size CMOS sensor into its full range of digital camera anytime soon...

    5. Personally, I think in the next iteration, Canon will incorporate Full Size CMOS sensor into its EOS1 professional level camera...

The question is, will canon incorporate Full Size CMOS sensor into the successor of EOS 20D as well...

(Think Canon will hurry with an update to EOS 20D now, now that the Nikon D200 is out...)

  2. Think Nikon announced it because it was leaked by accidental release onto web page anyways...

    1. Which one is better?

    Nikon D200 vs. Canon 5D

    2. Has anyone tried to put those CF hard drives instead of those Sandisk Extreme CF cards? Which one is faster, and which one use more battery power?

    3. I see the D200 still has the 1.5 lens factor... was hoping they would make it 1.0 lens factor instead...

  3. Re: EOS 5D full frame CMOS sensor the wave of the future?

Do you think in 2-5 years time all Canon digital SLR cameras will have

    a full frame CMOS sensor?

This is not trivial--this directly affects everyone's investments in

the (expensive) collection of lens that ideally should last you 10+

years of good lens use. (Your camera body will only last about 3-5

    yrs on average).

Imagine your New Replacement model to replace EOS 20D or EOS 350D came

out with a full frame CMOS sensor, then:

-Your EF-S 17-85mm f4-5.6 IS USM lens would instantly become obsolete.

(Better off with a EF 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 IS USM in this case).

-Besides, the EOS 5D don't even accept the newly introduced EF-S

series of lens which was introduced just last year.

I'm very confused for lens choice in view of unclear future full frame

CMOS sensor roadmap, vs. lens selection.

    What do you think?

  4. Built-In Flash Shadow EOS 350D lens

    1. Does anyone have any problem with the built-in flash shadow using

    the following?

    -EOS 350D (Rebel XT)

    -EF-S 17-85MM f4-5.6 IS USM (no hood)

Detailed Explanation: the EOS 350D's built-in flash may be blocked by

the longer EF-S 17-85MM lens barrel, thus causing the bottom portion

of the flash picture to to darker?

    2. Does the EOS 350D's built-in flash also use the 2nd generation

E-TTL II flash (that uses the distance info from the USM lens)?
