Sorry first link should work if you add .htm to the end.

Here is a comparitive test:
-
M42 will require proper stopped doewn metering, however with M lenses you set the aperture (still with the lens open) and prior to taking the shot push a button on the body and the lens will stop down for a split second, meter and hold the metered value.

I have no experience with the flash you ask about but I have used an old Cullmann flash on my DL, the issues that are talked about with older flash on digital seem to relate more to problems with Canon bodies. I would assume that a flash producing similiar or lower trigger voltage to Pentax flashes will be safe to use. This site has tests of trigger voltages of many flash guns but I don't see a reference to the model you mention: http://www.botzilla.com/photo/strobeVolts.html
Hope that is of some help.

You may be bettter with a slower prime for "bang for your buck" as you lot say (or summit like that) from what I've read the extreme fast lenses are not the best wide but probably as good or better at mid aperture. Again no direct experience with the lenses you are asking about.

The tamron one I've seen was more of a strap like thing than that Olympus one I linked to, I can't find any pictures of this version of the lens (none so far have looked like a penis anyhow) any links to a pic?
-
I dont know if it's true that it's a Kiron lens as I only heard it somewhere on a forum somewhere.
-
You may be able to pick up a second hand tripod collar like this:
but cheaper, I often see Tamron ones on ebay but I'm not sure of the diameter. Getting one the right size may be an issue although if it was too wide that would be less of a problem, just an idea anyhow.

Prime lenses are usually better optical performers than zooms, (even if the zoom is an L lens), but I have no experience of either of the lenses you mention.
-
If it's Pentax KA fit you have no worries fitting to your K10D, all you will lose is autofocus. I've heard Elicar was made by Kiron and it should be a good performer (I bid for one on ebay recently and only my lack of money stopped me winning it).One thing though- the designation K-A/R sounds suspiciously like Konica AR which is a mount that won't (if memory serves me correctly) fit a Pentax body.

If it's just the sticking shutter repair your'e after then I'd recommend "jonnywood" on ebay UK, he's not advertising any repairs at the moment though.

Thanks for the info, I'll let them know.

Someone on another forum is asking why his A1 manual lists the FL 58mm f1.2 as
unusable as he has sucessfully mounted the lens and used it,anyone anyone here

But one question: If I want to embed a picture from somewhere else it says change post to html and add an img tag but does that mean <img>http://farm1.static.flickr.com/175/425175977_68b5adccc9_b.jpg<img> or what? I've tried this and can't see a pic in my preview of the post or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks.
