  1. Yes? I have been looking at some of the other post. I have to say it?s almost seems impossible to get into this career. Some people say school isn?t worth it ? that the only way you learn is to get out there with someone you know and shoot. It seems like a lot of people don?t want to take on an assistant because they become a threat later on. And so on and so on? one thing is clear to me? it seems if you are going to get into this you are going to have to really pay dues?. It seems it?s not uncommon for someone to spend several years as a second shooter before they even think about venturing on there own. Lots of people do this for free?. How does anyone ever make any money at this if you spend all your time trying to buy equipment and wearing it out because you do everything for free? I?m just a little discouraged but I?m not saying I?m giving up. Most of my work is sports and wild life witch I have made some money shooting those things? I just need to keep networking and hope someone is willing to help me out some time down the road. And thanks David your post was probably the most helpful peace of information I?ve gotten.
  2. I?ve been looking at this site for some time now and have to say

I?ve become very interested in getting into wedding photography. I

have to say I have done lots of photography of events for my college

paper and everyone says they love my work. But you know how it

is ?we are our worst credits? I?ve noticed one thing it is nearly

impossible to find someone to mentor you these days. I really wish I

could find someone to do this with is there any suggestions on

getting started for people with low budgets. How do I go about

finding a mentor and things like that? Just really want to do it but

    getting started is a pain.

  3. How does a Q-Flash compare to something like a Canon 580 EX? I?ve heard a lot of good ratings on this flash and am looking at moving up from 420 EX. A Q-Flash seems quiet spendy. How much bang do you really get for your buck.
