SanDisk has a free IMAGE RESCUE program called "RescuePRO"TM Ver. 3.0.
It comes on a free mini CD with some of their cards. Check their site, you might be able to download it there. Don't know if it works for all cards...? Are you using SANDISK? It WILL restore deleted files. Corrupted may be another story, I'm afraid...

I second the 2.5" LCD! these old eyes just aren't what they used to be. A bigger brighter viewfinder, please! The rest of the 20D (a) is just short of amazing...:) Actually it isn't short at all. I started with a manual everything Pentax in 1971. The 20D wasn't even a dream!

Seems to me ,Ed, if you get shot and manage to get home you've given enough to be able to stay there. If you have more time, pushing paper seems appropriate, on the home side.
Anyway, have you thought about a P&S? I have a 750Z pentax that does everything except boil water. Fits right in my pocket and takes great pictures. I'm sure a powershot Canon could do the same. I know it's hard to leave the 20D behind, I love mine. Best.<div></div>

The SANDISK EXTREME III is 20 MB/sec and will keep up with any camera, I would think. I don't have the 5D, but I use these cards in my XT and 20Da. With a life-time waranty you can shoot away and be ready for your next camera too, without worry.
If there is a speed problem, at least you'll know it's not the card!<div></div>

ZIP LOCK bags, FREEZER type (Heavy plastic), works for me.
Heck, seal enough air in it and it might even float. I use them when I go out on my boat. They're cheap, easy to to store, and they really work.
Two Gallon size would probably take a camera AND lens. Stick the lens out the slot and take a picture through the bag, if conditions are bad enough.
Just keep it all out of sight and locked up when you're not around.
Things grow legs in The Army, been there , seen that.

The E1 works well all by itself too. I have them on all three of my Canon's w/o the neckstrap. You really won't drop it.

A canon 9950f Scanner will scan 12 slides at a time. also 35mm film strips and a whole lot of other film types too. Has scratch and dent removal software also. About $350 @ B&H. Just got mine haven't used it yet, but it is Canon. It's a full 8.5X11" bed scanner for everything else. Win XP.<div></div>

I find a little drop of oil on the squirrel cage really quiets things up. All in one is good ,but WD works just as well...:)
