Joe:
Yes I know. I ask a lot of questions (but only in short periods of time and then I reappear again) and I love forums. But it's your fault that I ask all these questions because I get so many useful tips:-) And I feel I "know" most of you.
I spent a lot of time on tutorials on youtube mostly, but there is always some detail I wonder about. But yes I know I have reached the limit with questions about flash in this forum for now:-)
I do make a living of photography, believe it or not. But so far I have used natural light only or just a few lamps with everything on auto. But I want to be good technically as well (Not only aesthetically). I know a lot of guys have the advantage of knowing everything about the tech stuff almost before they pick up a camera. The technical part took me years to learn. Especially light metering and the zone system etc.
Ellis:
So basically fillflash is all flash that fills a subject:-)
Thank you all once again. Interesting posts that I need to read thoroughly. (Especially the long posts that are advanced, plus english is not my first language).

Hi.
I'm wondering if I should measure the light with my camera (on manual) before I turn on my speedlight, and then adjust the light.
Or should I just turn on the speedlight and measure the light right away?
Thank you.

Ok thank you all. I will need to practice a lot. Puhh.. there is so much to learn about flash photography. But I will master it one day:--)
Dick:
Yes I will need a lot of routine when shooting in variated light. Nice photo of the girls.

Hi.
I'm playing around with my built in flashand the SB910 on the D600.
I don't think I understand the term Fillflash. Is that just the flash on lowest power? (I only shoot manual).
Or how do I activate it if there is anything to activate.
Thank you.

Wow that was almost to easy. I was in a way hoping it would be harder. I changed it in a few minutes in Lightroom (After I downloaded it).
So this means that anyone can change it any time. But I guess anything is possible if one really wants to cheat.
But thank you very much for all your help. The most important was that it contains my name and not the guys.

Hi.
I borrowed a camera from a friend and I got a really good photo shot in NEF.
When I was viewing the EXIF info it says his name as the artist.
Can I change that with some kind of application?
Thanks.

Thank you once again for all the good advice.

Hi Joe (was about to write Hey Joe) :-)
Thank you for the advice. Yes your right. I only bring the flash in case I need to shoot at f.8 and to look more "pro". My Nikon D600 will do the job without. But I really want to start using flash light and learn all I can about it. So I appreciate every advice, like this one.
Thank you.

Thank you Peter. Will practice shooting it behind me:-)

Hi.
Tomorrow i'm going to take photos of 3-4 people in a room (No idea what size).
But when I use the SB910 flash on a tripod with a shoot through umbrella or use the umbrella as a reflector, the light lands on the people, but then the rest of the room doesn't get lit the same way. It's looks to dark.
Should I turn up the ISO to control the ambient light more?
Or how can I make the room equally lit all over it it's possible?

Thank you.

Hi.
I need to be really good with portrait lightning.
But I don't want to bother people all the time and they don't have time enough to be my model etc.
Any good idea to what I can use as a substitute for a model?
I practice with a flash and a reflector.

Thank you.

I just found out that you can turn the built in flash off. Just put in -- in "mode". It will still trigger the external flash.

-

Oh yes I forgot to say that it will be in the middle of the day with a lot of daylight coming through the windows. (It's a room made of glass on top of a very tall building, and a lot of light from the ceiling (The ceiling is not made of glass though).
Thank you for all the interesting answers. I will have to make many test shots.

Howard:
I can see that none of the camerashops in my area have them in stock. So I will just shoot the internal flash at 1/128. It looks like it will work.

Hi Peter.
Thank you very much. That is a great and affordable little item. Will get one. (If not a radio trigger).

-

But if I need the popup flash to trigger it, then it doesn't make sense.
Can I make sure the popup flash doesn't go off? That's ugly with the built in flash in a persons face.
It must be possible, or else what use would an external remote flash be?

Good. Thank you very much Andrew.

Hi.
Yes a beginners question.
Tomorrow i'm taking photos of a guy sitting in a chair with the background about 3-5 meters behind him.
The SB910 will fire remotely into an umbrella just beside him to light him up. (And a reflector on the other side...doesn't really matter).
But my question is.. will the background be dark? My guess is that it will not.
Help.. I really hope so, because I need the background white. (The background is a wall almost only with huge windows and thin frames. But that's the way they insist I shoot it.

Thank you.

Oh that video was just what I needed. Thank you so much for saving me for hours of reading.
Great. Have a nice evening both of you.

Hi.
Today I bought a Nikon SB 910. The guy in the shop said I didn't need a wireless trigger on the cameras hotshoe to shoot wireless with my camera. I should save the money and use the built in IR.
I simply can't find it anywhere in the camera or on the flash. Is it really possible? Is it not easier to get a radio trigger or a cabel?
Thank you.

Thank you very much for all the good advice. Realy appreciate it.
Maybe I will "just" get a good old hassie with film. I always miss film and i'm always in a dilemma about film vs. digital.

-

Hi.
I love the square format. And i'm a little "tired" of film.
What is the cheapest way to get a digital format camera?
(Not toy cams like Lmo etc.)

Thank you..

Thank you so much for your help. I'm gonna have to read it a few times, and test it.
