Afghan migrants in the Calais port...
For the french speaking...
"Quand le vent eut frapp鬍
Quand fut d鴲uite la Cit頤e l?Ame,
Quand la tyrannie eut bouscul頪usqu?au dernier des
souffles,
Le voyageur fut jet鬠ah brindille dans l?ouragan,
Jusqu?au d鳥rt sans route,
Vers l?exode sans but."

Calais (France), Migrants from Afghanistan and Pakistan waiting to cross the Manche to go in
England...

Yama is afghan. He arrived in England 3 years ago and he lived there during 2 years. One
day, the english autorithies decided to send him back to Afghanistan. But after a trip of
several months, Yama is back in Calais and want to cross the Manche to go in England again,
to live in peace. He sleeps in a camp close to the beach. 2 days ago, the police came in the
camp to arrest them, he managed to escape and he decided to sleep on the beach. Tonight
he recovers his sleeping bag on the beach and he come back to the camp. Last night he tried
to get into the trailer of a truck to go in England but he failed...

Calais, France, is the last step for the (illegal) immigration from central asia (Iran, Pakistan,
Afghanistan) to England, but maybe the most complicated. The security around the
embarcation of cars and truck is so important that it take sometimes 6 months for migrants
to go to England... Waiting fot the D Day, they try to live in this town with the help of some
inhabitants... This photo was made in the industrial zone in the evening when the refugees
try to come back to their camp and to escape police...
