I think it's a defect beacause a JPG image shot in B&W mode looks more or less like a B&W image on my 20D and on some other 5D's. On my 5D however it looks like it's shot in sepia.

Puppy Face,
I'll start looking for a 5D with a well broken in, shopworn and shop-adjusted display. As a pro-guitarplayer I kind of like the concept.

It's not the ambient light, under the same ambient light there's a big difference between the store's demo 5D and my 5D.

I took my new 5D back to the store today because the LCD screen has a yellow-ish
color cast. The JPG/raw files are fine, it's the display on camera that is the
problem. The effect is visible on the menu pages too.
The display of the, older, demo 5D in the store was o.k., but all of the 3 new
5D's in stock had the same yellow display problem.
Are there any 5D owners with this same issue? Could this be a software-related
(firmware?) problem ?

D,
I think only recent uploads get into the top photos. If your shot was in your portfolio for
some time and you decided to put it up for rating now, it won't show up in the top photos.
Maybe that's whats happening? Nice shot b.t.w!

5D with yellow color cast on lcd display
in Canon EOS Mount
Posted
Ronaldo,
The issue is that the lcd of my 5D displays images with a distinct yellow-ish/sepia color cast. It's not the ambient light, it's not WhiteBalance, its not unprocessed RAW files, its the LCD display.
This 5D isn't the first nor is it the only dslr i own. I checked and re-checked before driving all the way to the store to take it back.
In the store the salespeople recognised the issue. At the moment they are checking with Canon to see what to do about it.
English isn't my native language, so maybe my question above wasn't very clearly put. By the look of the reactions I got it probably isn't;-)
