  1. Aiguilles de l'Orrenaye (env. 2800m) and Tête de Moïse (3104m) seen from Tête de Villadel (2710m), France. (Photo taken in 01. January 2001 after 5pm with my fingers already frozen...)

    • Whence come the highest mountains? so did I once ask.
Then did Ilearn that they come out of the sea.
That testimony is inscribed on their stones, and on the walls oftheir summits.
Out of the deepest must the highest come to its height.-
Thus spake Zarathustra on the ridge of the mountain where it was cold ...

hello, thanks for your comment. the contrail is a lint in the film scanner. I cleaned the film feeder several time, but each time the lint reappears. nothing is prefect. ;) best g.

Hi, this is your best photo so far in your port. (If you turn it left one-eighth of a degree it'd be perfect.) best regards, g.

p.s.: also, the window in the upper right hand corner is nice.

Hello, thank you for your remark!

The out-of-focus part (bokeh) establishes the background which thus provides the contrast to let the crocus shine.

Only in the digital-camera world everything is sharp. with the equipment used, i.e. velvia 135 (50asa) film more DOF would have been impossible. I admit having missed the crocus bottom which would have added more foreground. (The circumstances didn't allow it.) I also admit, that the colour saturation auto-correct is a bit too strong.

    Best regards, g.
