I am looking for a lab / processing shop that prints quality B&W. I
tried many stores but they all like to adjust the lightness of the
prints at their will e.g. they like bright and clear faces on
protraits even it was taken with 1600 film at low light situation --
the result is many reprints and inconsistent results everytime from
the same film.
may be i should print myself but where to buy a darkroom enlarger in
Hong Kong?

If you are on limited budget, try a Summicron-C 40mm (or the Minolta one which is the same), a f2 lens. It was made for Leica CL and it costs around US$200 to US$250 (used of course)

Do you guys have the serial number ranges for each version? I looked at KB Camera website and they are saying third version started from around 2,900,000.

I bought a S&W of 40.5mm from a local shop and it fits perfectly with my rokkor 40mm.

the resolution of the pic is not the same after loading to photonet. anyone knows why? Also, how to post a pic on the page without having it becomes a "link"?

Depending on your budget, a Leica / Leitz Minolta CL (people say it is not a Leica...) with the Summicron-C or Rokkor 40mm would bring you lots of fun (if you do not need an accurate meter). Otherwise, the Bessa series is also good.

Thanks guys, very helpful.

I already have a 40.5 mm filter, the outer diameter is approx. 42.5mm. Jerry, do u think the 12526 or other will fit. Thanks
-
it should stay out. i just got mine fixed by a Leica techician yesterday!

I learnt from other threads that the Leica 12526 hood can be used on
the Summicron-C 40mm with some modifications to the rubber hood or
using a retaining ring. I however have a Rokkor-m 40mm (which is
different from the cron-C and takes 40.5 mm filter). Would the 12526
fits the Rokkor without the need of the aforesaid modification? If
not, any rectangular hood that would fit perfectly? many thanks

Thanks Ed and Stanley.
Ed, can you e-mail me pics of the enlarger and what is included. I guess you have a digital camera around :-) If it is in good shape (not rusty...) and not too big (i got a small room only...), i really want to get it. Please e-mail me at davidkkan@yahoo.com
Btw, and very importantly, where to get chemicals and papers in Hong Kong? Kwong Tai in Central closed already...I called up Man Shing today and they said they no longer sell *those* stuff anymore....
Stanley, good to know that there is still a film user around. Let's share experience. E-mail me at davidkkan@yahoo.com
