I did a pre-order of Nikon D600 at B & H.. Hope to receive it by September 24 or 25, 2012. Trying to buy FX lens from Tokina.

I think it all depends on your own decision, if somebody will convince you to switch, you are putting burden to the other photographers. In my opinion just upgrade some of your equipments and stick to what you have.

I stopped using UV filter, hood is fine. I still have some circular polarize filter on my 77 lens. I learned that as long as you are carefully using the lens the easy way. Through out the years I notice a little bit wear & tear to the lens surface but it does not affect the quality of the photos I take.

I'm very confident buying SanDisk Extreme IV as log as it has serial numbers on card. It is fast and just buy 2-4 gig of memory and you will be surprised with the outcome. It is also advisable to have a better SLR camera to do a better job.
-
I think it is better to use 2-4 gig cards than 16. One of the advantages of low gig cf cards is the download time and not wasting money on an expensive CF cards. Equip yourself with lot of them for backup. If one of them happens to have an error message, don't use it anymore. Maybe you can also have a backup camera,at least one of them will produce images for sure.

I would prefer to acquire Nikon D300 because of durability. I have been using mine since 2009 and still working good in any weather condition. My Nikon D7000 is very good with low light as Shun mentioned.

I have a Nikon D300 for almost 3 years now and it is tested on all kinds of weather, durable like a warrior.
I use my D7000 as a backup and not exposed to real action yet..I'm satisfied with these two cameras. As far as low light weddings and outdoor portraits I guess good lenses can do the work. I have a Nikon 50mm 1.8 D ( old version) affordable but very good for wedding. I also use 70-200mm 2.8 lens. Good luck...

I got an fEE error message when I set my Nikon D300 with Sigma 170-500 mm to take Rodeo
coverage. I did not use it because it was not working, I switched camera and showing fEE message so I
figures out it was not the camera just the lens. I'm so glad with Photo.net forum I found the answer, just
rotate and lock the lens to A ring red 32 and it is working now. Thanks to the previous forum, that
answered my question.

Go for it.. You have at least 10 days and in good one or two sunny days, you can shoot lot of pictures. Some good places are Norris Area, Mammoth, and Old Faithful. In Mammoth Basin, elks and other animals are roaming inside the town and they are wild and always keep distance for safety. Teton pass has good scenery too before heading to Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Rob, I think Window 7 movie maker can do HD movie and copy on DVD but it takes ample time to finish
and can be viewed on computer and just use HDMI to view on Lcd/Led Tv.

I need help figuring how to view "My Workplace". It is showing error with this server. I logged out and logged on but

Tim and Chris will be remembered for their contribution as great photo journalists. You will be missed,
farewell.

Go to Adorama and to electronics then used equipments and you will find the different items plus category
ratings so you will be aware when buying. Good luck.

I got a new Nikon D7000 this March and I really enjoyed the quality of pictures. I did not have problem
learning it because I still have my Nikon D300. There are some differences in the function button and it
took a while to locate the ISO adjustments. I will use Nikon D7000 as a primary and the Nikon D300 will be
my back up. Both of them are equipped with battery grips and interchangeable lenses. I also enjoyed the
HD 1080 video coverage using only a mono-pad.

I send big printing job to nations photos lab or pepco. You can give instructions to what specifications you
want such as; they will do color adjustments, metallic ,lustre and very affordable prices on larger prints.

<p>I have Epson 1400 for 13X19 print using Ilford Galerie glossy papers but the inks are expensive. I have another Canon Pixma 9000 where I use to print canvas only Epson satin canvas at 13X19. Most of the time like wedding 16 x 20 picture I usually send it through Nations Photo lab to print metallic which my customers like it a lot. I do the mat, framing and hanger which stands 40 lbs. of pressure. It's cheaper to have somebody print it for you for less due to discounted deals. If you prefer to buy large format make sure you get return of investment in the future. </p>

<p>Outdoor I usually set to ISO200 then check the aperture setting and speed. Indoor when the source of lights is dark enough, I try ISO400 then open up the aperture setting then take a sample shot if it is okay. I would rather take a little under expose then work on it during processing. I really have a hard time setting over ISO1000 due to noise. Not to mention the flash.</p>

<p>Dan, I usually bring lots of CF memory cards during long coverage. I use 2gb Sandisk, Extreme IV then limit the images to 100-150 taken. I use Sandisk 8 Extreme III on raw, and some Sandisk 4gb Extreme 4 on fine. I also have lots of Lexar pro 1 & 2 to help up. Downloading images are fast with these CF cards.</p>

<p>During any wedding or quinceañera, I always have 2 cameras, 1 Nikon D300 and Canon 30D. I also bring lot of memory cards too but limit the number of shots to ease uploading. I set my Nikon with SB600 and 18-135 Nikkor lens and Canon with 430 EX flash and 28-135mm Canon lens. I use alternate shot just in case one fails, I still have back up. It is really tiring but it is worth having all the good moments taken. I rarely use my Tamron 70-200 2.8 during these events.</p>

<p><img src="http://d6d2h4gfvy8t8.cloudfront.net/11895710-sm.jpg" alt="" width="199" height="139" />I took this picture while visiting Spokane. It's a Japanese Garden located in Manito Park in Spokane. I used Nikon D300 with 18x135mm Nikkor lens. Processed thru Adobe Photoshop CS5 then tone map.</p>

<p>It might not be a fast moving item. As far as code date is concerned, don't worry about it, is not like medicine that once it gets closer to expiration the potency might not be as good as new one.</p>

Dark Spots

<p>Thank you all for your suggestions. I will search from the different websites from you and at the same time I'll look for local dealer and not do the project myself as Jerry's recommendations. Thanks<br>
I will update you later on.</p>
