Don't try capture sharpenning if it's too much for you,or reduce opacity in layers palette. Better control is in creative sharpenning and you can use brush to selective sharpen details like eyes and soften other parts of face with smoothing brushes.

Thank you all very much. Mark thank you - it's intersting. I found in local store used vivitar 283 made in Japan. I went with it becouse it's very reliable. After taking few pictures i'm happy with it but I need time to master it. But thinking doesn't pain ;-)
Thanks again.

Try 85 1.8. Sigma is little too long and 2.8 in low light is not enought. Add cheap 50 1.8 and you are sorted.

I need recomendation on cheap secondhand flash. It should be
powerfull reliable , tilt , swivel and if posible zoom unit. I'd like
to have something with various output like 1/2 1/4 and mayby less if
I'll need.
Please don't suggest dedicated units becouse i'm on budget. I can
spend 30-50GBP no more. Is any? Sorry for mistakes , I'm not a native
speaker. Links welcome. Thank you for your help :-)

I have 17-85 f4-5.6 IS. It can be bought as kit lens and it's very versatile lens but be aware of CA. On 20d 24mm it's not enought for landscapes and architecture. Much better then 17-55 but not as good like 17-40L. Try 17-40L + 50f1.4(great portrait and low light performance) or 85 f1.8(even better?) + 100-400L IS or 300 f4L and 1.4 TC for wildlife.
Oops, sorry I'm not a professional photographer.

Yes but in elements 2 noboby can open 16-bit images. Also is problem with actions and there is no channel mixer, but are some ways to do it. Search for actions specialy to use with elements 2 on net. There are levels and curves and channel mixer as well.

If you need nice range on 1.6 crop camera best is 17-85 is but be aware that there is a lot of CA (at least on my copy:-)) It's great walkabout lens but 17-40 are little sharper, faster, full frame and L quality.

I'm from Poland, its not far more on north, and on december sometimes is snow but last 10-15 years rarely. A citys are warmer. January-february seems better. Watch forecast and go when will be snowly if you can wait. Maybay you 'll be lucky. There's every year a few nice white days in central Europe .
