1.
Hello everyone, I'm looking to purchase a fast lens for photography at night and low-light scenarios. I've been doing my homework and found my two options: the Nikon AF-S 50mm f.14 and Sigma 50mm f1.4 EX DG HSM.

Here are links to the two lenses:

Sigma - http://www.amazon.com/Sigma-50mm-Nikon-Digital-Cameras/dp/B0018ZDGAW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1243144655&sr=1-2

Nikon - http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-50mm-1-4G-Digital-Cameras/dp/B001GCVA0U/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1243144700&sr=8-3

Which of these lenses is the better buy? From what I've read online, it looks like the Sigma takes the cake in quality. But what are your experiences?

Any input you can give is greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)

  2. Thanks for the incredible feedback folks! My budget on this

project really isn't that large. What I would like to do is spend

less than $100 on the lens. My original idea is to wait 'till

someone puts their ME Super on ebay with a couple of good

lenses and then buy it there. That way I can have 2 cameras and

mount each with a different lens and film.

    In the meantime though, I bought a SIGMA 35 - 70mm/ f2.8 lens

off of ebay. It was only $40, so I don't expect the quality to be that

great, but it will do for now.

I think I've got enough information now to start my resarch on

what lens I should really splurge my money on. Damn, this is an

    expensive hobby!

  3. One more thing, what lenses do you folks recommend for use with the

Pentax ME Super? I want to know so I can start search for them on

ebay. I'm primarily interested in wide-angle lenses and telephotos.

Thanks again for your help folks!

  4. I've been noticing that the shutter on my camera does not fire as

soon as I depress the shutter button. It takes some time before the

shutter opens and then the shutter will sometimes stay open for

    longer than it needs to.

Why is my camera doing this? I'm assuming new betteries are needed,

but I'm not sure. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
