Four images were combined with Photoshop CS2 High Dynamic range (HDR).
My first attempt at HDR, let me know what ya think!

From the boathouse at Kingsmere Estate, Gatineau Park, Quebec, cottage
home of Prime Minister Mackenzie King, a place of ghosts. Unretouched
Lensbaby shot. Comments?

Nothing like an F18 making a flyby. You like?

Thanks Ken, for your gracious comments. I had a press pass for Bluesfest but it didn't cover this act, I was actually out in the crowd at the side. I didn't think I would get any decent shots considering the low light and fairly slow lens but I did get a few before I left (it was a long day!) Considering the shots were pretty decent I kick myself now for leaving early! Thanks again for letting me know what you think, always helps to hear from others.

Handheld from far away...too bad I was leaving at the time, could have
got many more shots I'm afraid!

Benjamin, love the treatment you give to images of Detroit. My hometown is Windsor and I have spent many an hour in Detroit, and would love to return to capture that city photographically. Thanks for the inspiration! 7/7

Lensbaby shot of the train in Maniwaki Quebec. Love that lens, hope
you like the image.

Anyone know the type of spider?

A whole bunch of Seabees were at the Ottawa Classic Air Ralleye at the
National Aviation Museum. Very cool airplane! Sony A100, Minolta 500mm

Thanks, Daniel, Ted, Leon (and John)...
As an (enlightened) teacher I don't worry about marks...numbers are meaningless. It is the commentary that counts, and I must thank you folks for the wonderful comments, it means a lot to me as I strive to further my expertise in photography. As for the light effects, Daniel, it was an overcast (and really humid!) day with the sun slightly behind the plane, this could account for the inner glow of the vapour. It was a real challenge to get the exposure right, as I am sure air show photogs can attest to (thank God for multiple passes)!

Just one of many pictures from the 2006 Ottawa airshow at Carp
Airport, June 17. Looking for your input!

Thanks August, I was tempted to PS the poles and may do so for some occasion, but I like being truthful to the subject too, though I did have to PS some telephone wires out in some angles!
-
Excellent capture John. Beautiful light, very atmospheric, great composition, a real sense of place. I want to be there!

The Avro Arrow flies again in Barry's Bay Ontario, home of test pilot
Janusz Zurakowski. Very famous aircraft, especially to us Canadians.
Still would be, decades later, one of the most advanced fighters.

Impressive capture of my favorite view of my favorite city. Congratulations, nice crop, detail and control of light.
-
If only for fun...moose in the wild here in Ontario. Happy New Year!

Just wondered what people thought...my favorite photo from the Ottawa
Airshow, Carp Ontario this past summer.

OK, so they are not pencils, but I am always intrigued by the designs
of nature close up. I am also intrigued by what others see in my
photos. What do you think?

Walking through the field as the sun was setting. One of a series.
Does this work for you? Thank you in advance for your critiques, much
appreciated.

Another use of the 8mm Peleng wide angle lens. This was an antique car
show at Morrisburg, Ontario (next to Upper Canada Village). I truly
thank you for your critiques! Let me know if this does anything for you!

Submitting for your critiquing pleasure (my first one!)...yellow truck
captured with 8mm Peleng lens on Minolta 7D. Thanks for your comments!
Remembrance Night at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Photo Friday: Alone
in Journalism
Posted
I came upon this man praying over the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
(Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) at the night of Remembrance Day (Nov 11
2005). I wanted to get a different kind of shot than the usual
ceremony during the day.
