Kimberley.....I saw them when I googled my name.

William...my point was it isn't just ME they are doing it to. They have taken many, many photos off of this site...not just mine. This is where they are getting their illustrations.

 

And...no..they did NOT get the first photo they took off my portfolio credited correctly. Again, my concern. They listed me as the photographer, and I was NOT. Again, it was a photo I posted on here with permission BY the actual photographer Brendan Lemke to be rated. I clearly stated HIS name in all the copyright information sections, and right in the title even. So...no..they are not crediting the actual photographer for all of the work they are simply uploading.

Apparently, since my last post/question about it...several of you have noticed

it happened to you as well. I went again to the site...they have since used

ANOTHER photo off my portfolio here (without permission)

is worse...apparently THIS SITE (photonet) is where they get all of their

artwork. If you scroll down on the page to right under the article on the

left...It lists (in Hungarian) what looks like other articles in that issue. I

clicked on SEVERAL of them...all list an "illustrator" who when I then googled

the name...are photonet subscribers. It seems like whoever it is taking

them...is just coming here to get their shots. I don't know if anything can be

done about this since it is on such a large scale of so many of us. I wouldn't

mind so much someone using my work...but I feel since it is clearly

copyrighted..they should at least have to ask for permission before simply

lifting it from my page. (and yours!) I DID try to email the person listed on

the page..I heard nothing back. Any suggestions?

Oliver...do you have any suggestions? Any help even communicating with them would be great. The second photo that they used today *is* mine...but like I said...the first one isn't. I had posted it here FOR someone else (and DID give them credit in the title, copyright info and "other" section...and DID have their permission to post it). I just feel especially bad they are giving me credit for the first photo..and it isn't mine...they just swiped it off of my page.

Well...THIS IS RIDICULOUS! They used another one of mine SINCE I emailed them! Argh.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I had done a language translation search and figured out it was Hungarian. It wasn't a thorough translation...but it seems the article is something *health* related? I just think regardless...even if it IS on a public site...if it says "copyright" by someone..I agree with what most of you have said...whoever wants to use a photo should at least *ask* first.

Hi. I was wondering if any of you have ever had a problem with someone taking

one of your images from this site and using it on their own in something w/o

permission? I saw it on a google search...and linked to the site to see one the

shots from my portfolio on here (which is the only place I uploaded it) had been

used in some foreign publication from what it looks like. (found here--

contact person listed on the publication...with no response. Even though they

listed me as the photographer....is someone allowed to do that? I thought with

having it listed as copyrighted on here they cannot without written permission.

What adds to the problem is that they didn't even credit the photo correctly. I

stated clearly in the photo info the photographer name...as I was posting it

(WITH permission...) for someone else for feedback/critique. Has anyone else had

this happen? If so...what did you do about it? Thanks for any feedback.
