Hi, I have a Nikon D90 with the 18-200 VR lens attached that I use often as a walk-about/around town camera. Often times all I want to do is carry the camera with attached lens on a strap that goes across my chest for quick access. The problem I have though is that it's not very stable, if I lean forward (or trip) the camera will swing around to the front violently. Is there a strap that is designed to prevent this?

Also I often use this same outfit as a travel/backpacking camera. I'd like to find a pretty minimal bag that can comfortably carry the camera plus some SD cards and a spare battery over the shoulder or across the chest (with something to again keep it from swinging around to the front), but that is also easy to pack into a larger backpack. I've tried the Tamrac Velocity 6x but I don't like how the strap doesn't come off (for packing) and I really don't find that it to keep from swinging around to the front. It looks like a top-loader design might be my best bet, but I don't see anything that really keeps the pack from swinging around to the front. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Neighbors cat. Taken minutes after receiving my new D90. Probably the 3rd or 4th time I tripped the shutter :-D

I've looked at the BlackRapid strap and I don't think it quite solves the problem I'm looking to solve. i.e. it doesn't seem to stop the camera from swining around to the front when bending over.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.
